• Bencic was brought back down to earth by an impressive Peng.

Conclusion

• Bencic's bubble will burst eventually. If she wins the first set and not in a tie breaker, I will lay her as I expect the 2nd set to be a 7-5, 7-6 which will enable the odds to rise

Cilic v Simon - 1.6 Cilic

• 16th v 31st
• Gilles Simon has won the last 4 head to heads and always both players have won a set at least
• The most recent head to head was jan 2014, a 3-2 sets win for Simon.

Cilic

• 3rd, 3rd round in his last 2 tournaments. Goes deep enough without quite getting to the key parts of tournaments
• 2-0- retired,3-0,  3-1 for Cilic this US Open 

Simon

• 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 2nd rounds recently  Not too impressive.
• 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd round in hard court tournaments recently.
• In the US Open 3-0, 3-1, 3-1 

Conclusion

• Simon wins head to heads  - very interesting , albeit 6 years between the last 2 meetings.
• Both players should win a set so lay the 3-0 set betting? Or better yet , perhaps lay the first set winner in the 3-0 sets market.

1st, 3rd, 2nd round on hard for him recently.
3-2, 3-0, 3-0 so far this US Open.
Final, Final, Final, Final for Federer recently.
Quarter, Final, Final recently on hard court for Federer.
Federer is in sparkling form and should progress. So hold out for any surprises here.

Berdych v Tiem - 1.3 Berdyrch
7th v 45th and no head to heads
3rd, 3rd, 3rd, 2nd recently for Berdych . Gone off the boil a tad.
2nd, semi, 3rd, 2nd on hard recently , conceded at least a set in 4 of this last 6 matches on hard.
3-0, 3-2, 3-0 recently in the US Open.
Final, 1st , 1st in recent tournaments for Tiem.
3rd, 2nd, 1st, 1st on hard recently for Tiem. he doesn't seem to like hard court. 3-0, 3-2, 3-0 in the US Open so far.
A toughie to predict as there are no head to heads. We have seen before that newcomers to a seeded player can present the unknown ( I have noticed that mostly with the ladies though).
If Tiem wins the first set, back Berdych to get back.

Dimotrov v Monfils - 1.77 Dimitrov

• the most recent head to head this year saw Dimitrov win after Monfils retired so inconclusive
• 8th v 24th

Dimitrov

• Final, Semi, Semi and really hitting some consistency in recent tournaments and going far.
• 3rd, 3rd, Semi, 2nd rounds in hard court tournaments.
• 7 of the last 12 hard court matches have seen both players win a set.
• In the US Open 3-0, 3-0, 3-1 dropping the first set to Goffin.

Monfils

• 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd round recent tournaments, not quite as impressive as Dimitrov
• 3rd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd rounds on hard courts recently so used to getting at least to the 3rd round
• 3-0, 3-0, 3-0 so far this US Open and the longer he lasts in this tournament, the less likely he is to win 3-0 again. Look for gael to drop a set.

Conclusion

• I cannot see Monfils winning 3-0 yet again, particularly as he is facing a man who has hit the semi final at least in his last 3 tournaments on all surfaces. Not sure Monfils 3-0 set betting odds will be low enough to lay initially. Lay Monfils 3-0 if he wins first set, lay him also in match odds if he wins first set.,
