7pm - Feyenoord v Vitesse - 1.9 home
Standout stats

  • Feyenoord won the last 2 meetings, scoring 2 goals in each
  • this is 4th v 2nd and rarely do you see an odds on shot below 2nd in the league.
FEYENOORD
  • only 3 defeats in their last 17 matches.
  • have failed to score in only 1 all season.
  • only 4 under 2.5 goals matches all season.
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime all season.
  • have won 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • only 2 defeats at home v 3rd and 10th.
  • have scored in their last 10 home matches.
  • 80% of home matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored 10 goals in the last 1/4 hour of home matches ( 1st half)
  • Pelle the key man with 11 home goals this season.
VITESSE
  • undefeated in 11 matches.

  • have scored in their last 20 matches.

730pm - Braunschweig v Dortmund - 1.34 away
Standout stats

  • both teams have scored in the last 4 meetings and Dortmund have won the 3 Bundeliga meetings
  • this is 18th v 3rd. Dortmund's league hopes dashed you feel.
BRAUNSCHWEIG
  • only 3 wins, all to nil.
  • have kept only 5 clean sheets, but 2 in the last 2 matches.
  • beat 2nd 1-0 at home  but failed to score in 5 of the other 9 home matches ( 6 defeats).
  • have scored only 2 first half goals at home.
  • have had 4 0-0's at halftime at home
DORTMUND
  • only 1 win in 6 sees them lagging behind Bayern and Bayer.
  • have failed to score in only 3.
  • have kept only 4 clean sheets
  • have lost all matches this season to 7th and higher.
  • did draw 1-1 with 2nd bottom.
  • have scored and conceded in 6 of 8 away matches.
  • have conceded in their last 9 matches overall.
  • have not had a 0-0 this season'

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this is not the Dortmund we know. Luckily for them Braunschweig have won only 3 this season. Perhaps a 1-0 saver on them give their home win against Leverkusen.
  • Dortmund are likeliest first half goalscorers if there is to be a first half goal.
  • Dortmund tend only to lose to top 7, so a draw is worse case tonight.
  • Both teams might score.
  • Dortmund have scored 3-1-3-2 in their last 4 away matches.

730pm - Lierse v Anderlecht - 1.51 away
Standout stats

  • Anderlecht at home win these meetings, but there have been 3 draws now when Anderlecht have visited Lierse.
  • this is 13th v 2nd
LIERSE
  • only 3 draws and 7 wins all season
  • only 1 clean sheet in 15 matches.
  • have not beaten any of the top 6 home or away.
  • only 1 0-0 this season.
ANDERLECHT
  • only 2 defeats in 13 matches.
  • have only won 1 of their last 4 away matches.
  • have scored and conceded in their last 4 matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2 matches.
  • are consistent away to 12th and below, with 2 0-3 wins and a 0-2 win. That is what will be expected today.
  • Anderlecht's only draws this season have come against 1st
  • have scored in their last 13 matches.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this is another one of those " go with the head to heads or with the recent form?" Head to heads suggest a struggle for Anderlecht and thus a lay at 1.5. Recent form suggests a 0-2 or 0-3.
  • there are no halftime stats
  • there should not be a 0-0 here.

730pm - Paris St-G v Bordeaux - 1.26 home
Standout stats

  • PSG are unbeaten in head to heads, winning the last 4 matches.
  • this is 1st v 7th
PSG
  • only 1 loss this season.
  • 7 wins in their last 8 at home.
  • only 3 draws at home, came against 2nd and 3rd and against bottom.
  • all wins at home this season saw PSG scoring 3-5 goals in 6 of those 8 wins.
  • PSG have scored in all home matches.
  • PSG have scored 14 first half and 19 2nd half goals at home.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime
BORDEAUX
  • have only won 1 of their last 4.
  • only 3 defeats in 16
  • failed to score in only 5 this season, but in 2 of their last 3.
  • have only won 2 away matches but drew 6 , all score drawn.
  • have not played the top 3 away yet, but conceded 2 away to 4th and 5th

Profitable in play opportunities

  • PSG tend to beat Bordeaux and the expectation is for PSG to score 2+ goals. PSG tend to score first at home so not sure where the DRT will come from, unless Bordeaux score first.
  • Lay the 0-0 halftime score.

30th January 2014

A great night last night in a rare live chat mid week. The highlight? Laying the draw at 1.06 and Bayern Munich score a 93rd minute winner.

We spoke in the live chat last night about DRT LITE, that is a stripped down version of DRT where our focus is narrowed only to the premium sides, who are very shortly priced and whose form suggests an easy night. Last night's DRT lite teams included Panathanaikos, Chelsea, Celtic, Barcelona, Bayern Munich. Of these, Panathanaikos's match was 0-0 at halftime time and they scored 3 goals in the 2nd half; Chelsea we layed the draw at 1.07 at 0-0 and it did not oblige, Celtic were simply too efficient; Barcelona conceded first and were backable at 1.5, a gift for a 1.11 shot ( they won 5-1) , and Bayern Munich, well we know about them, a 93rd minute winner.

I'll point out the DRT lite matches today and it looks as if the PAOK match might fall into that category now PAOK are scoring goals again.

6pm - PAOK v Apollon Smirnis - 1.18 home
Standout stats

  • this is the only leg of a  Greek Cup match
PAOK
  • have only lost 2 matches since September 2013 in all competitions.
  • have won 6 of their last 7 matches
  • have 13 wins in 15 matches at home
  • have won their last 4 cup matches, 3 with clean sheets
  • have won their last 6 home cup matches.
  • have lost only 1 home cup match since 2004.
APOLLON SMIRNIS
  • only 4 wins in 14 in all competitions for this Super league side.
  • as recently as December 2013, they held PAOK to a 0-0 away.
  • this is part of a run of 11 without a win in 12 away matches.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of the last 6 cup matches.
  • have not won an away cup match, albeit only 5. 3 defeats in 4 away cup matches.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • you might want to take out a 0-0 pre match insurance given the 0-0 gremlins which tend to appear at times in Greece. Indeed this was the scoreline the last time these 2 met when PAOK were at home.
  • 1.18 as you know by now suggests 3/4 goals for PAOK and a possible win to nil. They are strong at home so a victory is expected.
  • that 0-0 pre match back will alleviate any concerns if no goals appear.
  • Smirmis are poor away so if they score first, they are opposable.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Nottm Forest v Watford - 2.04 home
Standout stats

  • in a quiet day, I'll venture into the Championship
  • Forest seem to struggle against Watford. Since 2012, Draw, Watford win, Watford win, Draw in the 4 head to heads sees Watford as a potential bogey team.
  • Forest are 5th and 11points shy of 2nd place. Touch and go whether they can get into the play-offs. Watford are 16th and only 7 points above the relegation zone.
NOTTM FOREST
  • have lost only 4 all season
  • are unbeaten in 9 albeit 5 of those were draws.
  • have scored and conceded in the last 4 matches.
  • have won the last 3 home matches scoring 2-2-4.
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season
  • in a small sample of teams 16th and below, Forest have scored 3 in 2 matches v 18th and 23rd at home.
  • have had 3 0-0's at halftime in 13 home matches
WATFORD
  • only 1 win in 14
  • 5 draws in their last 8 matches, that Forest draw-itis is catching.
  • 6 consecutive away draws, 5 of them were score draws.
  • have failed to score in 6 of the last 10 matches.
  • have kept only 5 clean sheets , the last 2 were at home.
  • have drawn all away matches scored v top 8
  • have not won in 6 away, but are undefeated in 7 away
  • both sides have pretty much led at halftime in 1/2 of their home/away matches.
  • Deeney a key Watford away player. 7 of his 11 goals are scored away.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • Watford are unbeaten in 3 head to heads, and like Forest , are haemorrhaging points because of so many draws.
  • A 6 match draw sequence away for Watford must end at some stage. Take a chance of it ending tonight? With Forest winning their last 3 home matches, you'd hope that a lay the draw could be a good trade, particularly if it's a late draw.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Racing Santander v Sociedad - 1.71 away
Standout stats

  • this is a copa del rey match where Sociedad hold a 3-1 lead from the first leg.
  • As ever, it is context rather than research which will determine any angles in ( if any!).
  • Santander need 2 goals to gain parity and have the advantage of an away goal, if that counts. Sociedad make Santander's task difficult by scoring an away goal themselves. You feel if Sociedad score, then it'll be "down tools" time for Santander.
  • Sociedad play Atl Madrid at the weekend and may rest a few players as Barcelona did last night. Team news is therefore key. Will Sociedad mirror Barcelona in winning as well?

SATURDAY - from www.ladbrokes.com

1215pm - QPR v Burnley - 1.8 home
Standout stats

Profitable in play opportunities

1245pm - Newcastle v Sunderland - 1.8 home
Standout stats

  • this is a local derby and as such I don't really know what use research will be. It's one of those " one off" matches

1245pm - West Ham v Swansea - 2.62 home and away
Standout stats

  • I am not going to research this match as both sides are exactly the same price . The market doesn't know what to make of this one.

Profitable in play opportunities

1pm - PAS Giannina V Levadiakos - 1.85 home
Standout stats

Profitable in play opportunities

230pm - Augsburg v Werder Bremen - 1.72 home
Standout stats

  • an Augsburg 3-1 win is sandwiched between 2 1-1 draws and 2 1-0 wins ( one for either side) in scorelines which belie the reputation Werder Bremen matches have for goals.
  • this is 9th v 11th so 2 apparently well-matches sides.
AUGSBURG
  • a 6 match unbeaten run is their best part of the season so far.
  • 3 consecutive home wins
  • have only failed to score in 4 matches.
  • have only kept 4 clean sheets
  • have scored and conceded in their last 3 matches, including a 2-2 against the might of Dortmund.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime in 11 matches.
  • have scored in all home matches bar 1
  • have scored 2 goals at least against 8th and lower at home.
  • 88% of home matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored 8 of their 10 1st half goals in the first 1/2 hour/
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime at home.
WERDER BREMEN
  • only 5 wins all season
  • a team of some contrasts. Recent matches have seen total goals of 5-4-5-8-7-5 and then suddenly we get a home 1-0 win against Bayer Leverkusen and a 0-0 against Braunschweig.
  • goals have really been flowing away from home. Recent totals 3-4-8-5 goals
  • all bar one of Werder's defeats this season came against top 8 sides ( 5 of their away defeats v 3rd to 7th inclusive).

Profitable in play opportunities

  • I don't know what to make of this match. Away from home recently, Werder Bremen have had eyecatchingly high amounts of goals, but in head to heads, the general trend between these 2 teams hase been very tight indeed. And suddenly, Werder's last 2 matches are 1-0 and 0-0.
  • there is an argument for a 0-0 halftime score lay given Augsburg's impressive stats.
  • Augsburg tend to score at home. Werder should find this an easier assignment given all bar one of their defeats is v top 8 sides. Both teams to score?

230pm - Bayer Leverkusen v Stuttgart - 1.5 home
Standout stats

  • Leverkusen are unbeaten in head to heads . 2 2-2 draws, ,a 2-1 and a 0-1 indicate that Stuttgart can put up a fight.
  • this is 2nd v 12th and Leverkusen are some 13 points behind Bayern
BAYER LEVERKUSEN
  • only 1 draw all season
  • on a 3 match losing streak
  • have failed to score in 4 this season, and twice in 2 of the last 3 matches.
  • their first loss of the season at home came in the last race.
  • only 1 draw at home came against 1st
  • have scored 2+ in 7 of 9 home matches
  • have scored 11 in the first half and 12 in the 2nd half at home
  • no opponent has led at halftime at home.
  • have not had a 0-0 this season.
  • have only had one 0-0 at halftime at home
STUTTGART
  • 6 defeats in their last 8.
  • no draw in the last 8 matches.
  • 7 of the last 8 matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored and conceded in 9 of their last 11 matches.
  • have only failed to score in 3 matches.
  • have kept a clean sheet in 2 only.
  • have conceded 3-6-1-3-3 in their last 5 away matches.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Leverkusen historically have the upper hand. Stuttgart put up a strong home performance midweek going down to a 93rd minute Bayern winner. BUT their away concessions are a worry and Leverkusen must take advantage.
  • 3 match losing streak for Leverkusen a concern but they have a chance to win.
  • Will Leverkusen really lose a 2nd consecutive home match? Stuttgart have only kept a clean sheet in 2 so expect them to concede at some stage , especially if taking the lead as they did against bayern.
  • Lay the 0-0 halftime score based on Leverkusen's record at home.

230pm - Schalke v Wolfsburg - 2. home

Profitable in play opportunities

3pm - Cardiff v Norwich - 2.75 home
Standout stats

  • this is another toughie served up by the Premiership.A favourite at 2.75 is a favourite under sufferance
  • a rather predictable 0-0 the last time these 2 met in the Premiership. Will a new manager for Cardiff, renowned for scoring, chance his side into a more attacking force?
  • The Man Utd connection sees Fabio in and Zaha in, 2 very good signings.
  • Guittierez is a loanee from Newcastle to strengthen Norwich's defence and he's a very good player.
  • this is bottom v 12th
CARDIFF
  • poor old Ole. Cardiff have recent played Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester united in their last 4 matches, and predictably got nothing.
  • worryingly, Cardiff have conceded 2+ goals in their last 7 matches. Perhaps Ole should have headed for defensive players in the transfer window?
  • only 4 wins this season, 3 of them were at home and the last 2 were 1-0 home wins.
  • have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 matches
  • have scored 8 of their 10 home goals in the 2nd half and conceded 7 of their 8 away concessions in the last 1/4 hour
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime at home
NORWICH
  • only 3 defeats in 9 sees Norwich on the right tracks. 2 of those defeats were to Everton and Manchester United and not such a surprise.
  • have kept 2 consecutive clean sheets
  • have lost all bar 1 away match against top 8 sides.
  • against teams below them away, matches are very tight. They have scored 1-1-0-0-0 in away matches v 13th-17th inclusive.
  • have conceded 14 first half goals away.In fact, they have conceded 24 goals away and scored only 7.( 3(ish) coneded for every one scored).
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime

Profitable in play opportunities

  • post transfer window is always tough to call, particularly when one of your signings is as high class as Wilfred Zaha,. His impact on loan from United could be the difference.
  • This is not a match I have any inclination for. Statswise it points to Norwich scoring a maximum of one goal . Will Cardiff stop conceding 2+ goals ? This might be the match when they do.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3pm - Everton v Aston Villa - 1.44 home
Standout stats

  • A recent 4-0 thumping by Liverpool for Everton and Aston Villa will be delighted with a 4-3 win over West Brom but worried about conceding 2 goals so quickly in the first half
  • DDDWDW ( where D=Draw and W=Win) in head to heads for Everton saw all score draws.
  • this is 6th v 10th. Do note that 10th placed are only 6 points from 4th bottom!!!
EVERTON
  • only 3 defeats all season and are unlikely to have a 2nd consecutive defeat.
  • only Sunderland have beaten them at home.
  • only 1 clean sheet in 9 is not quite in keeping with the Martinez reputation.
  • have won 4 of their last 5 home matches.
  • have scored 3-2-2-2 at home to 8th, 9th, 12th and 13th and are playing 10th today.
  • have scored 10 first half and 11 2nd half goals at home
  • only 2 0-0's at halftime at home
ASTON VILLA
  • only 1 defeat in 5, but only 2 wins in 9 matches.
  • have conceded 2-2-3 in their last 3 matches
  • 2-3-6 goals scored before halftime in their last 3 matches
  • only 1 clean sheet in their last 10 matches.
  • have actually scored and conceded in the 4 away matches against top 9 sides.
  • have a good record v top 9 away, 1-3 win, 2-1 loss, 2-2 draw and 2-3 win.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • 2 consecutive defeats for Everton? Really? I would hope note. Everton tend to score 2 goals at least against teams near Villa's position. Villa have conceded 2-2-3 in their last 3 matches, so that 2 goals for Everton seems to have legs.
  • 0-0 halftime score lay based solely on Aston Villa's 2-3-6 goals before halftime in their last 3.
  • both teams could reasonably score today, as Everton are not keeping clean sheets lately, and history points to a lot of score draws. Aston Villa tend to find the net against top 9 away and beware their interesting record v top 9.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3pm - Fulham v Southampton - 2.2 away
Standout stats

  • only 3 head to heads of relevance, 2 draws and a home win for Southampton.
  • no transfers it seems for Southampton.
  • Berbatov has left Fulham who have signed Mitroglou from Olympiakos and Heitinga from Everton
  • this is 19th v 9th
FULHAM
  • only 1 draw this season.
  • 3 wins and 12 defeats in their last 15 matches.
  • have only kept 3 clean sheets all season
  • Fulham's last 2 home wins were secured by goals by Berbatov. Will Mitroglou be an able replacement?
  • have scored and conceded in 8 of 10 home matches.
  • have lost to top 7 sides at home, yet beat 10th placed Villa 2-0. How will they fare against 9th placed Southampton?
  • have scored in their last 11 home matches and conceded in their last 8 matches overall
  • 7 home goals have been conceded in the last 1/4 hour.
SOUTHAMPTON ( SAINTS)
  • only 2 wins in their last 12 matches but within thos 12 matches, they have played Arsenal twice, Chelsea twice, Man City, Newcastle, Tottenham and Everton, all top 10 sides.
  • have scored in 8 of their last 9 away matches
  • have had 2 consecutive 2-2 results, part of a run of 4 matches out of 5 where they have conceded 2+ goals.
  • are unbeaten home and away against 13th and below

Profitable in play opportunities

  • another match where there has been team changes. Will Mitroglou help Fulham score as they have in their last 11 home matches.?
  • If so, it looks as if both teams could score.
  • Advantage Southampton for me given their unbeaten record against 13th and below . Welcome respite from a recent fixture list of mostly top 10 teams.
  • Lay Fulham if Fulham score first.
  • Note Fulham have only had one draw all season. Lay any late draw?

3pm - Hull v Tottenham - 1.9 away
Standout stats

  • Tottenham ( Spurs) won 1-0 at home in October 2013 under differrent management.
  • This is 5th v 13th. Hull should not feel flattered though, they are only 4 points higher than the relegated 3.
HULL CITY
  • only 1 win in 10 matches
  • have played Chelsea and Man Utd recently at home and conceded at least 2 goals.
  • have failed to score in their last 4 matches,
  • have only kept 2 clean sheets in 13
  • have only played 3 of the top 7 at home, losing 2 and beating Liverpool 3-1.
  • Outside of the top 7, Hull are really tight at home but just seem to concede 2+ against the better sides.
  • no opponent has led at halftime at Hull this season.
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime .
SPURS
  • only 6 defeats all season. Lost 1-5 to Manchester City, and also lost 6-0 to Manchester City this season. Was this down to some defensive absentees as well as the red card?
  • We need to look at form under Tim Sherwood.
  • Under Sherwood Spurs have scored 2+ goals in 5 of the 7 matches, have won 5 matches, and won all 3 away matches scoring 3-2-3 goals.
  • 5 of Sherwood's matches have seen over 2.5 goals, and all bar 1 match has seen a successful 0-0 halftime score lay.
  • Spurs have only lost to 1st and 2nd away from home.
  • Have won all matches away v 7th and below.
  • have scored in their last 5 away and conceded in their last 6 away.
  • have scored 15 of their 16 away goals after the 1/2 hour mark.
Profitable in play opportunities.
  • I am surprised to see Spurs at nearly evens here . They have been scoring 2+ in away matches under Tim Sherwood, and against a team without a goal in 4 matches, Spurs could claim a vital 3 points.
  • Hull seem to concede 2+ against the top 7 at home, despite being ultra hard to beat in all other home matches..
  • 0-0 halftime score lay does not appeal as  Hull have nearly 50% home matches 0-0 at halftime. That might signal a 0-0 pre match back to lay trade?

3pm - Stoke v Manchester Utd - 1.66 away
Standout stats

  • 2 different managers make head to heads really difficult to get anything useful from. Pulis's Stoke were unique. They are no more. Fergie's United were unique. They are much changed now.
  • this is 7th v 16th . Stoke are only 2 points from relegation zone .
STOKE
  • only 3 wins in their last 20 matches.
  • have lost 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • have only lost 1 of their last 7 at home, a 3-5 loss to Liverpool.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of 6 matches at home to top 10. Have only lost one of those home matches v top 10
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime at home.
MANCHESTER UNITED
  • United's troubles seem to be against top 8 sides home and away. They have lost all bar 1 v top 8.
  • only 1 defeat in 8 aways
  • have failed to score in only 4 matches this season.
  • no draw in 10.
  • 6 wins and a draw away v 10th and below.
  • against 10th and below, United have scored 2+ in all bar 1 match.
  • United have conceded away against 13th, 17th, 19th and 20th .
  • have scored in their last 9 away matches.
  • have only scored first in 5 of their 11 away matches.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Stoke are in dire form. Manchester United have Van Persie , Rooney and Mata refreshing the side, and hopefully can be trusted to score at least 2 as they do against 10th and below away.
  • United might concede too, and could concede 1st and I would chance a lay of Stoke if Stoke score first.

3pm - Wolves v Bradford - 1.57 home
Standout stats

Profitable in play opportunities

3pm - Barcelona v Valencia - 1.14 home
Standout stats

  • Barcelona tend to win the home head to heads.
  • this is 1st v 10th. Valencia are under performing this season.
BARCELONA
  • have drawn 2 of their last 3 matches and must win as Atl Madrid and Real Madrid are right on their coat tails.
  • 100% win record at home.
  • 4 clean sheets in the last 5 home matches.
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season. 1.14 suggests 3/4 goals minimum.
  • 90% of home matches are over 2.5 goals.
  • 60% of home matches are over 3.5 goals.
  • 'have scored 18 first half goals and 16 2nd half goals at home.
  • have only conceded 1 goal at home in the first half.
  • Sanchez has scored 11 home goals this season.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at home.
VALENCIA
  • have only won 2 of their last 9 matches.
  • have only won 1 of their last 6 away matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2.
  • have conceded 3 in 3 matches home and away against top 3 sides.
  • have not beaten any of the top 6  home and away
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their 6 matches against top 6.
  • have only had 1 0-0 all season.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Valencia tend to concede 3 against top 3 sides. Will that continue?
  • Barcelona have won all of their home matches and score equally home and away. Lay 0-0 halftime score ? despite Valencia having 4 0-0's at halftime away.

3pm - Rangers v Brechin City - 1.11 home
Standout stats

  • Rangers were excellent at the weekend, going 0-2 down at odds of 1.09 only to win 3-2. Great stuff.
  • 4-1 to Rangers and 3-4 away for Rangers in head to heads. At least they are consistently scoring 4 goals, which ties in with a 1.11 quote.
RANGERS
  • won all bar a score draw this season
  • 6 consecutive wins
  • a run of 5 consecutive clean sheets ended with a 3-2 win over Arbroath.

Standout stats

  • 5 wins and a draw in head to heads , Porto have scored 3 goals in each of the last 2 meetings.
  • this is 11th v 3rd and there is a glimpse still at the title for Porto.
MARITIMO
  • only 4 wins all season
  • only 1 loss in 7 was against Benfica, but 4 score draws
  • have scored and conceded in 8 of their last 9 matches.
  • have conceded in all matches this season
  • have failed to score in only 4 this season
  • 5 defeats have come against top 5 and 2 defeats have come against bottom 3.

  • have scored and conceded in all matches at home
PORTO
  • only 2 defeats this season, both away.
  • have lost 2 of their last 3 away matches.
  • failed to score only in those defeats
  • more vulnerable away from home, but have beaten 12th and 13th 1-3 away and are playing 11th today, a team Porto have beaten 3-0 this season.
  • have conceded in their last 6 away matches

Profitable in play opportunities

  • neither side has had a 0-0 this season so lay any 0-0 late and low
  • Both teams could score today
  • Porto only failed to score in 2 defeats but have scored 3 against maritimo this season and scored 3 away to 12th and 13th ( Maritimo are 11th).
  • there are no halftime stats or goal times stats for Portugeuse football.

5pm - Standard Liege V Cercle Brugge - 1.2 home
Standout stats

  • 4 consecutive wins for Standard ended with a cup 1-0 loss last match. The key stats though are that Standard win league meetings between these 2 .
  • this is 1st v 9th
STANDARD LIEGE
  • only 1 defeat all season
  • have only failed to score in 3.
  • are unbeaten at home but have had 4 draws in their last 7 home matches.
  • have scored 2+ in each match at home to 5th-13th inclusive. Cercle are 9th.
  • are undefeated in 11 at home and 13 overall.
CERCLE BRUGGE
  • no draw in 11 matches
  • have lost 5 of their last 8 matches
  • have lost their last 3 away matches
  • have lost all 3 matches away to top 6 sides.
  • have not had a 0-0 this season.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • there are no halftime or goals stats for Belgium
  • Standard could score 2+ goals today if keeping their strong home scoring record up. This ties in with Cercle's losing performances against top 5 away.
  • a worrying case of drawitis for Standard has a good chance of ending as Cercle have not had a draw in 11 matches. Cercle might score, and if scoring first, should be layed.

Standout stats

  • 0-1 and 0-0 in the last 2 head to heads.
  • this is 1st v 6th.
OLYMPIAKOS
  • have won all matches bar 2 0-0 draws.
  • have kept 10 clean sheets in their last 12 matches.

  • have scored 2+ goals in all home matches.
PANETOLIKOS
  • no draw in 7.
  • have lost 5 of their last 6 away matches.
  • have had 3 1-0's in their last 4 matches
  • have had very tight away matches against 2nd ( 1-0) and 3rd ( 1-1) . How will they fare against an Olympiakos side without their main striker Mitroglou?

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this is all about Olympiakos. 1.15 suggests 3/4 goals and a possible win to nil ( 10 clean sheets in 12)

130pm - West Brom v Liverpool - 1.66 away
Standout stats

  • Thievy is an on loan striker from Espanyol for West Brom.
  • no transfer signings for Liverpool
  • a win and a loss for WBA in their last 2 home head to heads matches , and in the last 2 head to heads time-wise, Liverpool lost one and won 1.
  • this is 15th v 4th. West Brom are only 3 points from the relegation zone.
WEST BROM ( WBA)
  • have won only 4 all season and only 1 of their last 13.
  • only 1 clean sheet in 13 matches
  • are unbeaten in 3 at home with an impressive 1-0 win over Newcastle and 1-1 draw with Everton.
  • have scored and concede in the 3 matches played against top 6 sides at home, includes 2 1-1 draws.
  • have scored 7 home goals in the last 1/4 hour of matches
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime at home
LIVERPOOL
  • only 5 defeats this season
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 away matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2 this season.
  • 12 of the last 13 matches were over 2.5 goals
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime in 18 matches . In fact, have only had 1 0-0 at halftime all season.
  • against 14th and below, home and away, Liverpool have scored 3-4-1-5-3-4-4-3 goals. This is ultra consistent and an indication that they have the mark over lower 1/2 teams .
  • have scored in their last 13 matches
  • 'have not had a 0-0 this season

Profitable in play opportunities

  • with a team consisting of Sturridge and Suarez, surely it is not a stretch to conclude that Liverpool can match the 3,4 or 5 goal tallies they have managed against other teams 13th and below.
  • Contrast that with West Brom's eye catching 1-0 win at home v Newcastle and 1-1 draw with Everton. Do Liverpool have greater fire power?
  • it is likely that we'll see a goal before halftime so lay the 0-0 halftimescore.
  • Lay West Brom if West Brom score first, given that forward line for Liverpool

ROMA
  • only beaten by Juventus this season.
  • have won their last 3 matches scoring 3 or 4 goals
  • have won the last 4 home matches scoring 2-4-4-3
  • have not had a 0-0 halftime in 7
  • against top 11 at home, Roma have won all matches scoring 2+ and conceding only 1
  • have only conceded 2 home goals
  • have scored 12 first half and 15 2nd half goals at home
PARMA
  • are unbeaten in 10
  • have won their last 4 matches
  • have failed to score in only 3
  • are unbeaten against 3rd, 4th and 5th away this season.
  • have only had 1 0-0 away

3pm - Celtic v St Mirren - 1.16 home
Standout stats

  • this is likely to be business as usual , so it's good for DRT because if St Mirrne score, or if it's a long 0-0, we can get involved.
  • Celtic have only had 1 home head to head in the last 6, winning 2-0.
  • Celtic won 0-4 at St Mirren earlier in the season.
CELTIC
  • this is 1st v 9th and it would take a monumental cock up for Celtic to lose this title
  • unbeaten this season
  • 12 match winning run
  • 10 clean sheets
  • have scored 3 or 4 in the last 4 matches
  • have only conceded 1 2nd half goal at home
  • only 1 0-0 at home in the first half.
ST MIRREN
  • only 2 wins in 12 matches.
  • lost 0-4 to Celtic as recently as 5th January
  • have conceded 2 or more in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • have not had an away draw in 12
  • have had 7 0-0's at halftime at home, but only 2 away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • A celtic win to nil is expected, as is a goal before halftime. Winning runs and clean sheets runs will end at some point, but today? against a team they beat 0-4 away as recently as 5th January?
  • Note Celtic have scored 3 and 4 in their last 4 matches.

Profitable in play opportunities

4pm - Arsenal v Crystal Palace - 1.18 home
Standout stats

  • beware the curse of the Pulis 1-0! Will it be overcome by the Arsenal 2-0?
  • I don't think head to heads are relevant as there is a post Pulis Palace and a Pre-Pulis Palace
  • remember this is a London derby
  • this is 2nd v 16th. Such is the tightness at the bottom, Palace are a point from relegation, but a win away from 11th spot!!
ARSENAL
  • only 3 defeats for Arsenal, 2 came away v the Manchester clubs
  • are unbeaten at home since the Aston Villa farce at the start of the season
  • have had 5 2-0 wins in their last 7 matches at home
  • have scored 2 in their last 4 matches
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime in their last 7
  • have only failed to score in 2 this season.
  • have scored 2+ win wins at home to 11th and lower.
  • have only conceded 2 first half goals at home.
  • have scored first in 10 of their 11 home matches
CRYSTAL PALACE ( Palace)
  • Tony Pulis has made a huge difference.
  • 11 of Pulis' 13 matches have been under 2. goals, 8 of those were under 1.5 goals.
  • 5 of Pulis' wins in those 13 matches were 1-0, the other was 2-0.
  • ample warning for Arsenal today. Chelsea only won 2-1, Man City only won 1-0, and Tottenham 2-0.
  • Still, Palace have lost all 6 away matches v top 9,conceding 2+ in 5 of them. A bridge too far?
  • no draw away for Palace
  • have only scored 5 away goals.
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • it would not surprise me that this match remains 0-0 for a while. So perhaps back 0-0 pre match with a view to laying off later on, and avoid the 0-0 halftime score lay.
  • Best case for Palace is a 0-1 , but they tend to concede 2 against top 9 sides, and this has occured still under Pulis. Arsenal may have to score 2 to win, and the goals are most likelt late 2nd half goals .
  • If Palace score first, you must do an inusrance bet on the Palace 0-1 scoreline , while laying Palace in the match odds market. 5 Pulis wins this season have been 1-0.

Standout stats

  • Bayern Munich were superb mid week, with a late lay of the draw at 1.06 as they scored a 93rd minute winner.
  • Bayern have won the last 3 head to heads to nil. They only won the last 2 meetings 0-1.
  • this is 1st v 14th.
BAYERN
  • have won all bar 2 1-1 draws this season. They had a close shave against Stuttgart last match.
  • Bayern have won all home matches.
  • have won their last 10 matches.
  • have scored in all matches.
  • have scored 2+ goals in their last 10 matches.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime in their last 10 matches.
  • have scored 8 first half goals and 15 2nd half goals at home.
FRANKFURT
  • didn't have a win in 10 but in their last 3 matches have won 2 ( both 1-0) and drawn 1-1.
  • Beat Leverkusen 0-1 in the last away match after a run of 3 away defeats. Leverkusen are 2nd
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season.
  • have only had 4 clean sheets
  • beat 2nd away 0-1 but conceded 6 against 7th away and conceded 4 against 4th away. Which is it to be today?
  • have not had a 0-0 this season and have had 4 0-0's at halftime away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Bayern are likely to score at some stage, so keep the faith as you would have done mid week.
  • Bayern are likely to score 2 goals if keeping up their record .
  • What's with Frankfurt beating Leverkusen 0-1? Is Bayern just a step too much?

5pm - Galatasaray V Bursaspor - 1.53 home

6pm - Atlético Madrid v Real Sociedad - 1.33 home
Standout stats

  • must wins from herein in for Atl Madrid.
  • the last 4 head to heads have been tight, a draw, a 1-0 win for each side, and a win for Atl Madrid latest.
  • this is 2nd v 6th but there's nearly 20 points difference
ATL MADRID
  • equal on points with barcelona but "2nd" on goal difference.
  • only 1 loss all season.
  • 2 consecutive home draws now, surely not a 3rd?
  • have scored in all bar one match this season.
  • 73% of home matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored 15 1st half and 19 2nd half goals at home.
  • Costa is the key home goal scorer with 13.
  • only 2 0-0's at halftime at home.
SOCIEDAD
  • only 2 defeats in 13 matches
  • have scored 2+ goals in 5 of their last 7 away matches.
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime in 13 matches.
  • have scored in their last 13 matches.
  • have lost 4 of their 5 matches this season against top 5.
  • have scored in defeat against 1st, 3rd, 5th away.
  • 73% of away matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored in their last 7 away and conceded in their last 9 away.
  • only 2 0-0's at halftime away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • sequentially, Atl Madrid cannot really tolerate a 3rd consecutive draw at home so this might be our cue to lay any late draw.
  • both sides have 73% over 2.5 goals.
  • 0-0 halftime score lay looks reasonable here as both sides have only had 2 0-0's
  • Sociedad may score today , albeit they tend to get spanked by top 5 away.

745pm - Juventus v Inter - 1.44 home
Standout stats

JUVENTUS
  • have won all matches bar 3 ( 2 1-1 draws and a loss).
  • drew their last match.
  • have won all home matches
  • have scored in all matches.
  • have scored and conceded in 4 of the last 5 matches.
  • have scored 2+ goals in all bar 1 home match.
  • 80% of home matches are over 2.5 goals.
  • 50% of home matches are over 3.5 goals.
  • have scored 17 first half and 13 2nd half goals at home.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime at home
INTER MILAN
  • Inter have lost only 4 this season, but lost 4 in their last 6 matches.
  • have lost their last 3 away matches.
  • have lost their last 2 away matches 1-0.
  • have failed to score in 3 of their last 4.
  • have only won 1 of their last 9 matches.
  • have not beaten any teams 14th and above in the league.
  • have only had 1 0-0 all season and none away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • will Juventus really go 2 without winning? They have a 100% record at home and score in all matches.
  • Lay 0-0 halftime score.
  • Inter Milan have trouble scoring recently and cannot seem to beat top teams away from home. Lay Inter Milan if they score first.

8pm - Athletic Bilbao v Real Madrid - 1.53 away
Standout stats

  • Real Madrid have scored 3+ in the last 6 head to head wins. You'd expect a shorter price if that were the case tonight.
  • 0-3 scorelines in the last 3 head to heads at Bilbao.
  • this is 4th v 3rd, but really the top 3 are a step above.
Athletic Bilbao
  • 7 wins in their last 9 matches.
  • all 5 defeats this season have come away, including their first season defeat, a 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid.
  • have scored and conceded in 7 of their last 9 matches.
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime in their last 13 matches
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season.
  • have kept 4 clean sheets .
  • 5 consecutive home wins.
  • have beaten Barcelona 1-0 at home so a warning sign for Real Madrid.
  • have scored in 11 at home.
  • have scored 17 goals in the last 1/2 hour of home matches.
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime at home.
Real Madrid
  • only 2 defeats this season.
  • have won 10 of their last 11 matches, the only aberration a 2-2 draw.
  • are unbeaten in 6 away matches , winning 5.
  • have kept 6 clean sheets in their last 8 matches.
  • have had 10 over 2.5 goals matches in their last 12.
  • have had 3 0-0's at halftime in their last 4 matches.
  • have only lost to 1st and 2nd this season
  • have scored in their last 11 away matches.
  • 64% of away matches over 3.5 goals.
  • have scored 14 goals in the last 1/2 hour of matches away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • watch out for late goals -31 goals in the last 1/2 hour.
  • emphatic wins for Real Madrid in head to head scoring 3 at least .
  • Over 2.5 goals is a very strong trend for these 2.
  • Watch out with halftime 0-0 score. Real have had 3 0-0's at halftime in their last 4 - very uncharacteristic. So although it sounds logical, lay it very very late if you must.
  • Bilbao beat Barcelona 1-0 so there are conflicts as with Real Madrid we expect goals.

29th January 2014

1130am - Tokatspor v Antalyaspor - 1.52 away

2pm - OFI v Panionios - 1.72 home

4pm - Panathinaikos v Olympiakos Volou - 1.26 home
Standout stats

  • this is a greek cup match between Super League and lower Football league teams.
PANATHANAIKOS
  • only 1 draw in 21 matches in all competitions
  • 10 wins in their last 13
  • 3 of their last 4 wins have been 1-0.
  • no draw in 11 at home i n all competitions
  • 5 wins in their last 6 home matches.
  • Panathanaikos look up for the cup. Only 2 losses in 90 minutes in their last 20 matches
  • 9 wins and a solitary loss to AEK Athens in the last 10 home cup matches.
OLYMPIAKOS VOLOU
  • 12 consecutive wins in all competitions.
  • 5 consecutive away wins in all competitions
  • note the 7 consecutive clean sheets away before the concession of a single goal in the last away cup match.
  • only 2 defeat in the last 12 in the cup includes a 1-0 win and 0-0 v top flight Aris
  • 3 of the last 4 opponents away from home were Super league, resulting in 2-2, 2-0, 0-0.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • any siding with Panathanaikos suggests the we discount Volou's impressive winning run because it is largely achieved in a lesser league against lesser opponents. This might be borne out by the 3 aways recently against top flight teams in the cup where Volou failed to score in 2.
  • take it cautiously in Greece. Perhaps a 0-0 pre match back incase the 0-0 greek goblins return to haunt us.
  • only 1 draw in 21 for Panathaniakos should be exploited in play by laying any late draw.

6pm - Galatasaray v Elazigspor - 1.26 home
Standout stats

  • we were rather let down by a 0-0 in Galatasary's last match-they were playing away from home- and a hope for some compenstion tonight.
  • a 52nd minute Elazigspor separates these 2 sides in a match which ended with 2 late red cards.
  • Not much else to research. This is a match of context. Galatasary need a 1-0 to continue the argument. Elazigspor need a 0-0 bare minimum and will tolerate a score draw.
  • Galatasary have not won in 3 now, and worryingly not scored in 2 matches. Is Drogba injured? Snjeider injured? Just a slump?
  • At home, though, Galatasary have scored 4-2-2-2 in their last 4 matches, all wins.
  • Elazigspor lost away to Galatasary in the league 2-0 as recently as 6th December 2013. IS this a template for tonight?
Profitable in play opportunities
  • a match to be taken into context. Interestingly, Galatasary at home are winning and scoring 2+ goals regularly, and indeed beat today's opponents 2-0 at home as recently as December 2013.
  • Worryingly, in their last 3 matches, Gala have only scored 1 goal.
  • Elazigspor are in decent form recently, but away they have not won in 4.
  • 1-0 minimum required by Galatasary, 0-0 from Elazigspor.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Marseille v Valenciennes - 1.58 home
Standout stats

  • Historically this is a tight encounter, as there have been 3 score draws, a sudden Valenciennes 4-1 win, then a return to tight 1-0 wins home and away for Marseille in 2013. Not the scorelines of a 1.58 shot.
  • this is 9th v 18th. Will recent form supercede historical form?
MARSEILLE
  • have lost only 3 of their last 10, all defeats came without Marseille scoring.
  • If we take these 3 recent defeats out of the form, then Marseille scored 2-3-2-2-2-2.( the recent defeats were v 2nd, 3rd, and 7th
  • have failed to score in 5 this season, 4 of which ended with a defeat.
  • have kept only 1 clean sheet in their last 13 matches.
  • have had only 1 0-0 at halftime in 12 matches.
  • all 4 home defeats have come v 8th and above this season.Wins, scoring 2 in each match, at home came v 15th, 17th, and 19th.
  • 67% of home matches end over 2.5 goals.
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime at home.
VALENCIENNES
  • only 4 defeats in their last 13 matches a stark contrast from early season with 1 win and 7 straight defeats. You feel this start to the season sees Valenciennes where they are now.
  • have scored and conceded in 11 of those 13 matches.
  • their last away match was a 1-2 win against Monaco, as part of a now 3 match unbeaten run.
  • only kept 1 clean sheet this season, that was in the first match.
  • only failed to score in 2 of those 13 matches mentioned above.
  • have scored and conceded in all matches away to 7th and above, but failed to score against 10th, 12th and 13th
  • have conceded in their last 20 matches.
  • have only scored 2 first half goals away.
  • have not had a 0-0 this season.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • what's with that recent Valenciennes win against Monaco away? Surely a shot across the bows for a Marseille side who historically have tight tussles with today's opponents.
  • Both teams could score today. Or this will be a tight 1-0 as it has been in the last 2 meetings. 2-1 correct score covers both eventualities
  • Marseille have not had a 0-0 at halftime at home. Something to exploit? Although Valenciennes have only scored 2 before halftime away.
  • I would not be a backer of Marseille at 1.58 today, based on Valenciennes recent form.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Olympiakos v Atromitos - 1.28 home
Standout stats

  • this is the 2nd leg of a Greek cup match played on 12th January 2014. The scoreline there was 0-0.
  • the market expects home advantage to count today.
  • Prior to the 0-0, the last 2 scorelines between these 2 were 2-3 and 2-1 at Olympiakos.

  • a match of conflicts with  the 0-0 last time out conflicting with the 2-3 and 2-1 of previous recent head to heads.
  • 1.28 suggests Olympiakos will score 2 at least. You might want to back 0-0 incase "tough-to-beat" Atromitos turn up
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7pm - Ath Bilbao v Atl Madrid - 2.48 away
Standout stats

  • this is a copa del rey match
  • it's 1-0 to Atl Madrid from the first leg.
  • Not a match I want to research or focus on.
  • the 2.48 suggests the market is open as to the outcome. This being a 2nd leg suggests teams will play in reaction to the first leg. This means another clean sheet for Atl Madrid and they are through. Ath Bilbao need to score 1 to nil, or more to go through. A draw of any kind suits Atl Madrid.

7pm - Stuttgart v B Munich - 1.29 away
Standout stats

  • Bayern have won the last 6 meetings scoring 2+ in each match
  • this is 12th v 1st. Bayern have a match and 10 points in hand over 2nd
STUTTGART
  • no draw in 9 matches but 7 defeats in those 9 matches.
  • have conceded 6-1-2-3-2-3-2 in their last 7 matches
  • have only kept 2 clean sheets this season
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season.
  • 6 of their last 7 matches have been over 2.5 goals
  • all defeats home and away have come v top 7 sides.
  • have lost at home to 2nd and 4th without scoring.
  • have conceded in their last 10 matches.
  • have conceded in all home matches.
  • have scored 8 of their 14 home goals in the first 1/2 hour
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime all season.
BAYERN MUNICH
  • have won all bar 2 1-1 draws
  • are on a 9 match winning streak and 4 match away winning streak,
  • have scored 2+ goals in their last 9 matches.
  • have kept 5 clean sheets in their last 6 matches.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime in their last 10 matches.
  • Stuttgart are 12th. Bayern had problems v 13th away ( 1-2 win), 14th away ( 0-1) and 15th away ( 1-1). Symptomatic of problems v mid table away?
  • have only conceded 3 goals away
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime
Profitable in play opportunities
  • lay the 0-0 halftime score.
  • Bayern are expected to score 2 goals at least .
  • Stuttgart tend to lose to nil to top 4 sides at home, and score in the rest of home matches.

745pm - Aston Villa v West Brom - 2.64 home

745pm - Celtic v Kilmarnock - 1.19 home
Standout stats

  • Celtic have scored 3-4-5 in the last 3 wins , where both teams scored in recent head to heads.
  • Celtic have convincingly won the last 3 meetings at Kilmarnock.
  • his is 1st v 8th in the SPL
CELTIC
  • the juggernaut rolls on. All wins this season bar 3 draws
  • 11 consecutive wins
  • 9 consecutive clean sheets
  • have scored 4-3-4 in the last 3 matches.
  • have kept clean sheets in the last 4 home wins.
  • have scored in all matches.
  • have only had 3 0-0's at halftime this season
KILMARNOCK
  • win sporadically,.
  • have only had 1 draw in 20 matches, care of a 90th minute equaliser in their last away match
  • Celtic have already beaten Kilmarnock 5-2 this season, ( 3-2 at halftime)
  • have had only 1 0-0 all season and just 2 0-0's at halftime away
Profitable in play opportunities
  • although long sequences will end, Celtic seem capable of another win to nil, and an opening gambit at 3-0 might pay off.
  • 0-0 halftime score lay might be good given Celtic's consistent scoring, although just 4 matches ago they went through a few 1-0 scorelines.
  • Kilmarnock tend to avoid draws, so lay any late draws.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Chelsea v West Ham - 1.19 home
Standout stats

  • London derby - will West Ham surprise?
  • 3 clean sheets in 4 head to heads for Chelsea. Chelsea have won 3-0 and 2-0 in their last 2 home head to heads.
  • This is 3rd v 18th, or 3rd top v 3rd bottom. If Chelsea win by more than 1 this evening they go top.
CHELSEA
  • only 3 defeats, all coming away.
  • are on a 5 match winning streak.
  • have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches - the only teams to score being Manchester United and Liverpool.
  • have failed to score in only 4 .
  • have won all bar a 2-2 draw at home.
  • have scored 2 goals minimum in all bar 1 match this season.
  • have scored 13 first half and 12 second half goals at home.
  • have led at halftime in 7 of 11 home matches.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime at home.
WEST HAM
  • have only won 2 of their last 15 matches and only 4 all season.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6.
  • won their last away match 0-2 v Cardiff.
  • have not yet played top 3 away, but home and away have scored in 6 of 7 matches against top 7 sides. Yes, they failed to score in a 3-0 loss to Chelsea.
  • have scored in their last 6 matches overall.
  • have had 4 0-0's at halftime away.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • it is interesting that West Ham scored in all matches v top 7 bar a 3-0 loss to Chelsea.
  • Expect a near replication of that scoreline today.
  • If Chelsea have led at halftime in 7 of their 11 home matches, then they are more likely NOT to have a 0-0 at halftime, so lay the 0-0 halftime score.
  • Chelsea tend to score 2 goals at home, so expect at least that figure today.

745pm - Gent v Zulte-Waregem - 2.28 home

745pm - Hearts v St Mirren - 2.42 away

745pm - Napoli v Lazio - 1.57 home
Standout stats

  • Lazio have managed just one win in head to heads
  • this is a Coppa Italia match
NAPOLI
  • Napoli are unbeaten in 10.
  • Since January 2013, Napoli have only lost to 1 Italian team at home, Parma, 0-1.
  • have scored in their last 7 cup matches.
  • have only lost 1 match in 90 minutes at home in the cup since 2006
LAZIO
  • are unbeaten in 5 and recently kept Juventus to 1-1.
  • only 2 wins in 15 away matches.
  • Since August 2008 in the cup, only Fiorentina, Roma and Milan have beaten Lazio.
  • recent cup wins have come against Roma and Juventus
  • have scored and conceded in 6 of their last 7 away matches.
  • have only won 1 of their last 5 away matches
Profitable in play opportunities
  • not a match which is top of my list. Napoli's record at home is superb both overall and in the cup. Perhaps lay Lazio if Lazio score first. Do note that Lazio have beaten both Roma and Juventus in the cup, hence my hesitancy regarding 1.57 shots Napoli.

745pm - Sunderland v Stoke - 2.12 home

745pm - Tottenham v Man City - 1.99 away
Standout stats

  • Goals anyone? Total goals in recent head to heads of 6-5-3-4-6
  • Tottenham ( Spurs) won the last home head to head 3-1
  • this is 5th v 2nd. Man City go top with a win
SPURS
  • 5 wins in 6 now for Spurs and Tim Sherwood has made a great impact.
  • Spurs are scoring under Sherwood, scoring 3-1-3-2-2-3 since his arrival.
  •  consecutive clean sheets at home with wins against Stoke and Crystal Palace
  • have failed to score in only 1 of their last 10.
  • perhaps markedly, 4 of their 5 defeats have come against top 8 sides
  • no wins at home yet against top 8.
  • only 1 0-0 this season.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime under Sherwood.
MAN CITY
  • 4 defeats for Man City all came away from home.
  • since their last defeat, City have won 10 of 11 matches.
  • have scored 2+ goals in 9 of their last 11 matches.
  • have only failed to score in 2 this season.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • head to heads, and indeed Sherwood's Spurs scoring and City's scoring suggests goals. If we take an average of the last 5 head to heads, we reach nearly the 5 goal a game marker. This may be an angle in today, over 4.5 goals. Delay a bit incase it's 0-0 for a while.
  • there has only been 1 0-0 at halftime under Sherwood and his attacking flair might help a 0-0 halftime score lay.
  • both teams to score looks like having a chance

9pm - Barcelona v Levante - 1.1 home

Standout stats

Tuesday, 28 January 2014

28th January 2014

A quiet day yesterday but both Fenerbahce and Real Sociedad won, both had a goal before halftime , and Fenerbahce were held to a 1-1 til late, so all in all a profit should have been made by DRT'ers

745pm - Birmingham v Leicester - 1.97 away

745pm - Brentford v Bristol City - 1.65 home

745pm - Derby v Yeovil - 1.49 home

745pm - Lokeren v Oostende - 1.48 home
Standout stats

  • this is a belgian cup match.
  • these are both pro league sides. I am not even going to venture an opinion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Man Utd v Cardiff - 1.26 home
Standout stats

  • Cardiff stole a 2-2 draw with a 90th minute equaliser the last time these 2 teams met.
  • United have recently signed Mata, and may have Rooney and Van Persie back. A turnaround in home fortunes?
  • this is 7th v 20th ( bottom)
MAN UTD
  • 3 defeats in 5 home matches is unprecedented.
  • no draws in 9 matches.
  • have failed to score in 4 this season, 3 matches were at home ( 0-0, 0-1 , 0-1)
  • are comfortable against 14th and below at home, winning all 4 matches played , scoring 2+ goals on each occasion.
  • home and away against 14th and below, United have scored 2+ goals in ALL matches .
  • have scored and conceded in 4 matches home and away against bottom 4 sides.
  • have scored first in only 5 of 11 home matches, unheard of under Ferguson.
  • have only led at halftime in 4 of 11 home matches.
  • only 1 0-0 at fulltime this season, but 5 halftime 0-0's at home.
CARDIFF
  • have only 1 win in 12 matches ( 8 defeats in those 12).
  • have failed to score in 3 of their last 5 matches.
  • have conceded 3-3-2-2-2-4 in their last 6 matches.
  • have lost away to 1st, 2nd , 3rd, 4th but not played 5th-9th inclusive yet.
  • have conceded 6 in the last 1/4 hour of away 1st half, and 9 in the last 1/4 hour of the 2nd half away.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • the number 2 seems to resonate. Cardiff concede 2+ in their last 6 matches and Manchester United score 2+ regularly against 14th and below. This is our expectation for this match.
  • Logic suggests a 0-0 halftime score lay ( but the stats are less welcoming). Do note team news today, particularly for United. If we see Rooney, Van Persie and Mata , then we may be on for a 0-0 halftime score lay ( although I think I'd be happier seeing Danny Welbeck in there as the recent United resurgence coincided with his re-instatement).
  • Cardiff City have goals in them, 2 against Man United previously, and 2 recently away to Manchester City. With United scoring first in only 4 of 11 home matches, a hope therefore that Cardiff can score first for a welcome DRT
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Norwich v Newcastle - 2.54 away
Standout stats

  • Newcastle are unbeaten in 4 in the Premiership, winning 2 at home 1-0, a 0-0 away draw and a 2-1 home win latest.
  • this is 12th v 8th
NORWICH
  • have only 1 win in their last 7.
  • have 2 ways of playing top 11. They lost 1-3 to Chelsea and drew 2-2 with Everton. Then we have a cluster of 1-0 ( win v Saints), 0-1 loss to Villa and 1-0 win over Hull. In which category will Newcastle fall?
  • all bar one of Norwich's defeats has come against teams above them
  • have scored first in only 5 of 11 home matches.
  • have had 5 home 0-0's at halftime
NEWCASTLE
  • have lost 3 of their last 4 , albeit 2 were against Manchester City and Arsenal.
  • have won 4 of their last 6 away matches.
  • have only had 3 draws all season
  • have not had an away draw.
  • have scored first in only 6 of their 11 away matches
  • Remy and Cabaye are the key goalscorers away with 5 each.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • Newcastle were a tasty price in their last Premiership match. They could be the same again today. Clearly a side in better form, they have ended a run of 3 without scoring, by scoring 3 against West Ham.
  • Newcastle tend to avoid the draw, so that could be a good angle in.
  • Either team could score first today, hope it is Norwich to allow a possible DRT.
  • Newcastle have shown good recent away form and Norwich's losses are generally against teams above them in the league.
  • 5 0-0's at halftime for Norwich means I am not interested in the 0-0 halftime score lay.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - QPR v Bolton - 1.67 home
Standout stats

  • Although I hate lower league matches for their inconsistency, I have followed QPR this season.
  • QPR won 0-1 at the start of the season in head to heads
  • this is 2nd v 18th and a must win for QPR if they want to catch Leicester
QPR
  • no match for 10 days sees QPR more rested.
  • only 4 defeats all season, 3 came away
  • only lost to 1st in the league at home, a 1-0.
  • have won their last 2 home matches 2-1
  • 3 of 4 defeats this season came against top 5 opponents
  • 6 wins out of 6 against teams 16th and below at home.
  • noone has scored more than 1 goal against QPR at home.
  • have conceded only 1 2nd half goal at home , scoring 11.
  • C Austin must play if you fancy QPR. He has scored 9 home goals this season.
  • have had 6 0-0's at halftime at home
BOLTON
  • only 2 wins in their last 10.
  • have conceded 3-0-5-7 in their last 4 away matches.
  • have only failed to score in 2 of their last 16 .
  • both teams have scored in 6 of the last 7
  • Bolton have not won a match home or away against top 13 sides.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 out of 6 away matches against top 9 sides.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • both teams perform distinctly against certain parts of the league. i.e. Bolton have not won home or away against top 13 sides, and QPR have won 6 out of 6 home matches against 16th and below.
  • Bolton have conceded 12 goals in their last 2 away matches. Now this goes one of 2 ways. 1) it shows a big problem in defence and another hiding is on the cards ( in which case the QPR odds would be a lot shorter) or 2) we see a defensive reaction from Bolton today.
  • if Bolton score first, lay them as QPR don't tend to concede 2 goals in a match at home.
  • not sure of a clean sheet today as Bolton have scored in 2 of their last 16 and scored in those heavy recent defeats too.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Southampton v Arsenal - 2.06 away

Standout stats

  • this is probably not a good DRT match, but I feel obligated to research it as it is  Premiership match.
  • there's only 1 home head to head of relevance, a 1-1 when Arsenal last visited last year. Arsenal at home are a lot more ruthless scoring 6 and 2 in 2 wins at the Emirates.
  • this is 9th v 1st, but a 20 point gap is significant.
SOUTHAMPTON
  • have almost exclusively played the top 10 recently, and lost more than they won and drew. The last 2 matches, though have been against West Brom and Sunderland and see 2 positives, a win and a draw. I am afraid it looks as if Saints might be returning to losing days today.
  • Recent losses have come against Arsenal, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Everton and Chelsea again. Almost exclusively top 10 as I say.
  • As a consequence Saints have won only 1 of their last 5 home matches.
  • have only failed to score in 4 this season.
  • have kept only 2 clean sheets in 14 matches.
  • have only won 1 match home and away against teams above them.
  • have a tendency towards conceding 2/3 at their worst home and away against top 5 sides.
  • have scored first in only 6 of 11 home matches ( nearly half).
  • have only had 1 0-0 this season and 4 0-0's at halftime time at home.
ARSENAL
  • have only lost 3 this season, 1 an aberration against Aston Villa, the other 2 against the 2 Manchester Clubs.
  • have won 4 of their last 5 away matches.
  • have scored 3 -1-2-2-2 in their last 5 matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2 this season.
  • have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches.
  • have beaten 8th and 10th away and play 9th today.
  • outside the top 6, Arsenal have not conceded more than 1 goal away.
  • have scored 7 1st half goals away but 16 2nd half goals away.
  • have only had 1 0-0 this season and 4 0-0's at halftime away.
Profitable in-play opportunities.
  • Arsenal have only played 3 away matches against top 10, 2 losses to the Manchesters and a 1-0 win over Newcastle. It is hard to gauge how a team who usually falter against the best season after season, will perform  against a top 10 side today.
  • looking at the stats though, Southampton's recent rocky period was against top 10 sides, and I think it may continue tonight against an Arsenal scoring 3-1-2-2-2 in their last 5 matches.
  • Saints have a tendency to concede 2/3 against top 5 sides at their worst.
  • halftime score stats are a bit shaky, both sides have had 4 0-0's at halftime. This match should not end 0-0 and there has been a strong habit from Arsenal of scoring at least 2 goals late on, so if this is 0-0 coming into the 65th minute, lay the 0-0.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Swansea v Fulham - 1.75 home
Standout stats

  • these are 2 of the lesser lights in the Premiership and would not excite me from a DRT perspective.
  • Since 2012, Swansea have won 3 away head to heads and were beaten 0-3 when Fulham visited. Fulham now have a new manager, but that hasn't stopped the odds on quote for Swansea
SWANSEA
  • no win in 8.
  • have lost 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • have only kept 1 clean sheet in 13 matches.
  • all bar one of their defeats this season home and away has come against top 9 sides. Perhaps that is telling and suggests outside the top 10 could be an easier assignment.
  • that said, 3 draws at home v 11th, 14th and 18th.
  • have beaten Fulham 1-2 this season already.
  • have conceded in their last 8 matches.
  • 82% of home matches have been over 2.5 goals.
  • have scored 16 of their 19 home goals in the 2nd half.
  • have only scored first in 3 of 11 home matches, but do note the number of top 9 teams they have played.
  • have only had 1 0-0 this season but 4 halftime 0-0's at home.
FULHAM
  • have only had one draw all season, and no draw in 18 matches, and 11 away matches.
  • have only kept 3 clean sheets this season
  • have had 11 over 2.5 goals matches in their last 13.
  • all bar 1 away defeat has come against top 11 sides. Fulham have beaten 12th, 16th and 19th away and play 15th today.
  • have conceded in their last 10 away matches.
  • have conceded 18 of their 26 away goals in the 2nd half.
  • have scored first in only 1 of 11 away matches.
  • have not had a 0-0 this season but had 6 halftime 0-0's away.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • Swansea have been playing top 9 of late and losing, so their recent form must be put into context. This could present an easier task today, although in not losing against other than top 9, Swans tend to draw.
  • Prepare for 2nd half action if this is 0-0 at halftime , as it could be. These 2 sides score and concede in the 2nd half.
  • There has been a strong over 2.5 goals trend for Swansea at home and Fulham in overall matches recently.
  • Fulham have performed better away against teams 11th and lower.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Wrexham v Tamworth - 1.63 home

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - C Palace v Hull - 2.58 home
Standout stats

  • another unappealing DRT trading medium, based on the 2.58 quote, but with a Tony Pulis side, you get an element of readability.
  • there's only 1 head to head of relevance, a 0-1 Palace away win.
  • this is 16th v 11th and Tony Pulis is dragging Palace away from the relegation zone with some effect.
CRYSTAL PALACE
  • Palace have to be viewed in isolation under Tony Pulis. Since Tony Pulis, Palace have had 7 under 1.5 goals matches.
  • have only lost 1 of their last 6 home matches.
  • 4 of 5 losses under Pulis came against top 8 sides.
  • Palace have had 4 0-0's at halftime in their last 5 matches.
  • have won 4 of their 5 winning matches under Pulis 1-0.
  • have only had 6 over 2.5 goals matches all season.
  • 3 of 4 home wins came against bottom 3.
HULL CITY
  • have lost 4 of their last 5 matches, but played Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea in 3 of those .
  • have failed to score in their last 3 matches.
  • have had a tough away fixture list, playing 8 of the top 9.
  • have drawn 1-1 against 13th and 15th away.
  • have conceded in their last 11 matches away
  • have conceded 10 away goals in each half.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • any look at this match must acknowledge that Hull have pretty much been playing top 10 sides away. Hence their poor away record. They may fare better today against fellow minnows.
  • when not playing top 10 themselves, Palace tend towards under 1.5 goals matches. If winning, they are likely to get a 1-0.
  • As with a Pulis side, backing 0-0 pre-match might be a good option given the defensive solidity of Crystal palace, and Hull's inability to score in their last 3 matches.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Liverpool v Everton - 1.88 home
Standout stats

  • I'm not going to research this match as it is a local derby and these matches are to be treated in isolation as they are unique and don't tend to go with the stats. I certainly would not have Everton as outsiders here against a Liverpool side whose odds on quote looks far too short.
  • A 3-3 result last time is evidence of my conclusion above!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Real Madrid v Espanyol - 1.11 home

Standout stats

  • This is the copa del rey 2nd round and it's 0-1 for Real Madrid, 2 consecutive 0-1 wins now for Real.
  • We have a sudden shortening of the odds now they are at home. Real need a 0-0 to go through or a score draw. Espanyol need a 0-1 to get back on parity . Not much else to relate apart from the usual - 1.11 shots equal 3/4 goals minimum and a possible win to nil
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

27th January 2014

6pm - Fenerbahce v Torku Konyaspor - 1.24 home

Standout stats

  • This is a turkish super lig match between 1st and 14th
  • Fenerbahce have scored 4 in 4 of the last 6 head to heads. They have scored 4-4-2-4-4-2-2 in head to heads and actually scored that last 2 in defeat at Torku.
FENERBAHCE
  • have only lost 2 matches , both away from home.
  • 7 wins and 2 draws at home.
  • have failed to score in only 1 match.
  • have had 13 over 2.5 goals matches
  • tend to score 3-4-5 against teams 10th and below at home.
KONYASPOR
  • have not won away but had their only 0-0 in their last away match.
  • have only kept 4 clean sheets.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • have conceded 2+ goals in all matches away bar that 0-0
Profitable in play opportunities
  • it looks rather straightforward. 3-5 goals from Fenerbahce ( 2 minimum) .
  • Over 2.5 goals looks like coming in again for Fenerbahce.
  • There are no halftime stats for Turkey but logic would suggest a team likely to score 4 goals at their best, can at least get one before halftime
  • If Konyaspor score first, back Fenerbahce
Killer stats
  • Fenerbahce have won 7 and drawn 2 at home
  • Fenerbahce have failed to score only once.
  • Fenerbahce score 3+ at home v 10th and below.
  • Konyaspor have scored 2+ goals in all bar 1 away match.

745pm - Dundee Utd v St Johnstone - 2.2 home

Standout stats

  • this is 5th v 6th in the SPL and could be as tight as league positions suggest.
  • both teams have won the last 2 head to heads, Dundee 4-0 and St Johnstone 3-0.
DUNDEE UTD
  • no win in 6
  • 9 of the last 11 matches over 2.5 goals.
  • have conceded 2 goals in the last 2 away matches and 2+ goals in 5 of the last 6 matches overall.
  • have scored in the last 8 home matches
  • have scored 16 home goals in the 2nd half and only 7 in the first half.
  • have had 8 0-0's at halftime all season.
ST JOHNSTONE
  • unbeaten in 3 but only 1 win away and that was in their last away match
  • had a recent run of failing to score in 6 of 7 matches but have since managed a goal in each of the last 3 matches.
  • have scored first in only 2 of 11 away matches.
Profitable in play opportunities
  • a match making little or no appeal. A good stat is the last stat, where St Johnstone have only scored first in 2 of their 11 away matches.
  • Other than that, we have 2 poor sides. Dundee United are conceding 2+ regularly, and the head to heads are wide open . How can we read a game where one team wins 3-0 and then in the next head to head the other team wins 4-0.
  • A match to ignore.

9pm - Sociedad v Elche - 1.5 home

Standout stats

  • Elche have only lost 1 of the last 6 head to heads .The last 2 head to heads at Sociedad were 0-0 and 0-1
  • this is 6th v 17th . We have had a number of these matches recently, where the outsider , the clear outsider, has actually the better head to head record.
SOCIEDAD
  • have won their last 5 home matches scoring 3-5-4-5-2
  • have scored in their last 12 matches.
  • have scored and conceded in 7 of the last 8.
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime in the last 12 matches.
  • have lost 4 of their 5 matches only against top 5 sides
  • have scored 17 2nd half goals at home.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime at home.
ELCHE
  • have only won 2 of their last 11 matches.
  • have only kept 3 clean sheets all season
  • have not won any of their 8 matches home and away v top 8 sides
  • have not had a 0-0 away
  • have only had 1 -0 at halftime away
Profitable in play opportunities
  • head to heads point to Elche not losing, but season form points to a solid 2+ goal haul by Sociedad.
  • There should be a goal before halftime.
  • 17 2nd half goals from Sociedad might conflict with a 0-0 halftime lay.
Killer Stats

  • Sociedad have won their last 5 matches , scoring an average of just under 4 per match
  • Sociedad have not had a 0-0 halftime score in 12 matches
  • Elche have not beaten any top 8 sides.

DRT review SATURDAY

1245pm - Bournemouth v Liverpool – 1.38 away

Avoid the draw? Liverpool don’t seem to draw in the FA Cup in recent years.
Team news is key . I cannot really get any strong angles in here.

Fulltime - 0-2
halftime - 0-1
first goal scored - 26th minute
last goal scored - 60th minute

Avoiding the draw was the angle in ,and was easily met.

230pm - Stuttgart v Mainz – 2.12 home

Profitable in play opportunities

Both teams could score  today.
Lay the 0-0 halftime score as late and low as possible.

Fulltime - 1-2
halftime - 1-1
first goal scored - 11th minute
last goal scored - 87th minute

Another very straightforward match with good research conclusions. Both teams scored and the match was not 0-0 at halftime.

230pm - Nurnberg v Hoffenheim – 2.66 home

Profitable in play opportunities

some amazing stats here. Nurnberg have not won this season and Hoffenheim have not kept a clean sheet this season.
Hoffenheim also tend towards over 2.5 goals, but one match where they didn’t was a 1-0 loss away to bottom side.
So while the stats are wonderful, there are question marks.
If we were dealing with this from a purely stats based conclusion, then we would lay  Nurnberg if Nurnberg score first. We would perhaps lay 0-0 halftime score based on Hoffenheim’s strong stats, and we could expect both teams to score. Would 1-1 be a logical opening gambit?

Fulltime - 4-0
halftime - 2-0
first goal scored - 24th minute
last goal scored - 70th minute

The key stat here was the over 2.5 goals stat for Hoffenheim. Hoffenheim also did not keep a clean sheet. Nurnberg won their first match of the season. These 2 teams were so poor, a neutral bet was best ( goals bets are neutral because they involve both sides)

230pm - Dortmund v Augsburg – 1.34 home

Profitable in play opportunities

MATCH ODDS – Dortmund tend to only lose to top 6 sides, so if Augsburg are leading at any stage, lay Augsburg. Lay any late draw in the hope Dortmund continue to avoid home draws. Also will Dortmund really lose a 4th consecutive home match.
CORRECT SCORE – lay any late 0-0
HALFTIME SCORE – lay 0-0 halftime score

Fulltime - 2-2
halftime - 1-0
first goal scored - 5th minute
last goal scored - 72nd minute

The 0-0 halftime score lay was successful. I layed the late draw, at odds of 1.09 , really late on in the match, but it remained 2-2. The key to minimising risk is to delay entry until the last gasp .

230pm - Freiburg v Leverkusen – 1.8 away

Profitable in play opportunities

this is either going to end 1-0 ( either way) or Leverkusen will score at least 3 goals.
HALFTIME SCORE – Leverkusen are most likely to score an away goal in the first half so chance a 0-0 halftime score lay.
Both teams could score and concede, and if so, this suggests Leverkusen will not lose.

Fulltime - 3-2
halftime - 1-2
first goal scored - 4th minute
last goal scored - 90 minute

The research was good again. Lay the 0-0 halftime score . THe halftime score was 1-2. Both teams scored as predicted.
As to Bayer not losing, well, that was oh-so-close were it not for a 90th minute winner for Freiburg

DRT review SUNDAY

1245pm - Hibernian( HIBS) v Celtic - 1.36 away

Profitable in play opportunities

It is interesting that Hibs have such a solid record against Celtic this season already . Will that continue, particularly as Hibs have scored 2 goals average in their last 6 matches.
Celtic could serve up another clean sheet so must be favoured.
It is tough to predict a DRT angle given the positive early season head to heads, the fact Hibs have kept 6 halftime 0-0's at home ( back 0-0 pre match perhaps),. and with Celtic keeping clean sheets.

Fulltime - 0-4
Halftime - 0-1
First goal scored - 8 minutes
Last goal scored - 90th minute ( penalty)

Celtic won to nil as I suggested. The DRT's were not there given Celtic scoring first and keeping a clean sheet.

1pm - Sheffield United v Fulham - 2.5 away

No research done

Fulltime - 1-1
Halftime- 1-0
First goal scored - 31 minutes
Last goal scored - 75th minute
Red card  - 52 minutes Sheffield United

This was a match I mentioned within the DRT live chat. Sheffield United took the lead and even after their red card in the 52nd minute , they were still odds on to lay in-play, reaching a low I believe of 1.75. This was a great value lay given they were down to 10 men , and a league one side playing a Premiership side.

Why didn't I research? It was an FA Cup match and the away side were priced at 2.5 which suggests little faith from the market.

1pm - Lyon v Evian - 1.55 home

Profitable in play opportunities
the value is in opposing Lyon based on head to heads, but recent form might supercede historical form.
Will Lyon continue to score at least 2 goals as they have recently?
Lyon are the form side, only losing the PSG recently, the same PSG have Evian beat in their only win in 9.
Evian should concede at some stage . If the match is 0-0 at halftime, it wouldn't be a shock.
These matches are tough to call. As I say it is historical form v most recent form. Which is most reliable?

Fulltime - 3-0
Halftime- 2-0
First goal scored - 19 minutes
Last goal scored - 76th minute
Red card  - 40 minutes Evian

This was a match where I decided to lay Lyon at odds of 1.02 when 2-0 up. The reason? My research suggested that Evian could be a bogey team, having 2 draws and a win in the last 3 head to heads.
This lay was not fruitful , but was low enough to ensure any risk was kept to a bare minimum.

130pm - Go Ahead Eagles V Ajax - 1.45 away

Profitable in play opportunities

Ajax are quite clear in head to heads and will be expected to win. When a team has lost 2 consecutive head to heads 6-0, you begin to look for a defensive reaction from them. Also, why are Ajax not 1.17 or odds reflective of a team with the capability of winning 6-0?
Go ahead should be layed if scoring first. Their wins tend to come against 10th and lower.
Ajax have been poor away v 8th and above a a mystery re their performance away v 9th-13th inclusive ( where Go ahead resides.)
0-0 halftime score could be layed.

Fulltime - 0-1
Halftime- 0-0
First goal scored - 74th minute
Last goal scored - same

This match was tough to predict as Ajax had not played 9th to 13th inclusive away from home ( where Go ahead eagles are positioned).
I put forward a 0-0 halftime score lay, meaning I expected a goal before halftime. It did not come.
I decided to lay under 3.5 goals at odds of 1.14 at halftime  because of Ajax's goals record. The first goal came after 74 minutes. After than, Ajax hit the crossbar, but did not score any more goals.

2pm - Inter v Catania - 1.36 home

Profitable in play opportunities

Inter should get back on the winning trail today given their good wins to nil against bottom 3 sides, as well as Catania's defeats away from home, conceding 2+ goals on each occasion.
Inter have had trouble infront of goal, so watch out for that.
MATCH ODDS - lay Catania if Catania score first. Lay any late draw - Inter had no 0-0 this season
HALFTIME SCORE - with such a poor scoring record against an away team in such poor form, I would not chance a 0-0 halftime score lay.

Fulltime - 0-0

This is a match where I corrrectly left the 0-0 halftime score lay alone. This was another match where the crossbar was hit. I layed 0-0 at odds of 3.5 , together with 2 other teams in Seria A. This was the only match to finish 0-0.

2pm - Cagliari v Milan - 1.85 away

Profitable in play opportunities

both teams could score today. If so, lay any team 2-0 up. There are signs of a return to , at least, unbeaten form for Milan.
Milan are favoured inhead to heads.

Fulltime - 1-2
Halftime- 1-0
First goal scored - 28th minute
Last goal scored - 89th minute

This was a match to keep faith in Milan. Cagliari were layable as low as 1.3 in the match odds market, and Milan were backable at odds of at least 14 ( from memory).
If you had kept faith in Milan not losing, then you would have profited extremely well as the Milan equaliser came in the 87th minute and the winner in the 89th minute.
This was a classic DRT match for those who kept faith in Milan.

2pm - Torino v Atalanta - 1.8 home

Profitable in play opportunities

this should not end 0-0, so lay any 0-0 as late as you can at as low a price as you can get.
there is an argument for between 2-4 goals for Torino today. They have scored that amount in 4 matches against 11th and lower at home, and guess what, Atalanta have conceded 2-2-4 in defeats away to top 8 sides ( Torino are 7th).
advantage Torino today so lay Atalanta if Atalanta lead at any stage.

Fulltime - 1-0
Halftime 0-0
First goal  - 60th minute penalty
Red Card - Atalanta 90th minute

This was a simple DRT. We lay the 0-0 at halftime as I mentioned above in the research. The goal came in an obviously tight match, on the hour mark

2pm - Sampdoria v Bologna - 1.8 home

Profitable in play opportunities

Sampdoria could score 2 goals at their best today, and could concede, although Bologna are poor away goalscorers.
We might see 2nd half action. So do not be suprised with a 0-0 at halftime.

Fulltime - 1-1
Halftime 0-0
First goal  - 61st minute
Last goal - 90th minute penalty

This was excellent research and panned out exactly as predicted. The match was 0-0 at halftime. Why did I predict that? Well Sampdoria had scored 13 of their 14 goals in the 2nd half at home, and Bologna had conceded 19 2nd half goals away.
I confidently put up a 0-0 halftime lay which was successful.

2pm - Parma v Udinese - 1.9 home

Profitable in play opportunities

due warning. Wolfsburg were 1.6 shots at home but I pointed out to you that Hannover had won the last 4 meetings. Indeed Hannover won yesterday. Today we have the same as Udinese have won 3 of the last 4 matches scoring 3 when meeting Parma.
So your entry into this market is based on head to head Udinese dominance or recent form which sees Udinese conceding 3 in each of their last 3 matches.
lay 0-0 halftime score after about 15 minutes if still 0-0. These 2 have a history of scoring and conceding late in the first half.
only 1st and 2nd have beaten Parma at home, so they should not lose, but do remember the head to heads.

Fulltime - 1-0
Halftime 1-0
First goal  - 35th minute
Last goal - same

This was nice and simply. Lay the 0-0 halftime score after about 15 minutes if the match is still 0-0. The goal came in the 35th minute for a nice simple profit.

5pm - Gaziantepspor ( Gaz)v Galatasaray - 1.55 away

Profitable in play opportunities

this could reflect previous head to heads. I foresee a 0-1, 1-1, 1-2 kind of a scoreline with Galatasary having to really work.
WARNING - Gaz have not yet met top 4 at home this season so we cannot really gauge their set up against big teams at home.
Both teams could score today I feel given Galatasary's recent record and only 3 clean sheets this season.
Expectation, stats wise, is for a tight match.

Fulltime 0-0
Halftime 0-0

This was a predictably tight match. Not as tight as I envisioned. I expected a goal from both sides but that did not come .

530pm - Xanthi V Olympiacos - 1.33 away

Profitable in play opportunities

play the probabilities today. Will Olympiakos really have another 0-0 away from home? I don't believe so.
Difficult to really get a DRT angle in as Olympiakos keep so many clean sheets. I have earned big money by laying the 0-0 in the 90th+ minutes of Olympiakos matches. That seems our only hope
There are no halftime stats for Greece.

Fulltime - 0-2
Halftime - 0-1
First goal scored - 24th minute
Last goal scored - 89th minute
Red Cards - 48th minute Xanthi and 73rd minute Olympiakos

This was a match where we look to avoid the 0-0. It was tough to get a value trade as Olympiakos scored first and kept a clean sheet.

6pm - Rayo Vallecano v Atlético Madrid - 1.36 away

Profitable in play opportunities

important patterns to end? 2 consecutive draws for Atl Madrid have stopped them going top on their own. Will this draw sequence end today?
Lay the 0-0 halftime score
Look for a possible Atl Madrid win to nil, although Rayo did score 2 in defeat to 3rd and 5th at home.

Fulltime - 2-4
Halftime - 1-3
First goal scored - 8th minute
Last goal scored - 76th minute

The 0-0 halftime score lay was successful. A slight warning that Rayo might score 2, which indeed they did. This was a match where we were looking to oppose any draw, as Atl Madrid had 2 consecutive draws.

745pm - Fiorentina v Genoa - 1.4 home

Profitable in play opportunities

advantage Fiorentina here so if Genoa score first, lay Genoa.
there is a lack of congruity here. Fiorentina could keep a clean sheet in victory but have scored and conceded in all home matches against 14th and above.

Fulltime - 3-3
Halftime - 2-2
First goal scored - 27th minute Genoa penalty
Last goal scored - 78th minute Genoa

Fiorentina , 1.4 shots, went 0-1 down and 1-2 down, so there was plenty of excellent DRT trading in this match. Fiorentina eventually took a 3-2 lead, before a late equaliser. It is at 0-1 and 1-2 that we would be either laying Genoa or backing 1.4 shots Fiorentina at much better odds.

8pm - Barcelona v Málaga - 1.09 home

Profitable in play opportunities

It's difficult to tell which Malaga turns up. If the ultra defensive malaga turn up, we may have a chance of a DRT . But 1.09 suggests goals galore and a possible clean sheet.
Barcelona should not continue their 2 match draw sequence.
0-0 halftime score should be a logical lay, but Malaga could be a tough nut to crack early on.

Fulltime - 3-0
Halftime - 1-0
First goal scored - 40th minute
Last goal scored - 61st minute

Indeed,Malaga were a " tough nut to crack", keeping a clean sheet until the 40th minute of the first half.
There were " goals galore and a possible clean sheet" as predicted.
