23rd October 2013 football betting research
5pm - CSKA Moscow v Man City - 1.73 away - CSKA and City are both 2nd in the group so this match really is a key match as one team can take points off the other.
LLDLWLL for CSKA is poor form. They have failed to score in 6 of their last 7, and funnily enough , scored in the CL.
A potential win to nil for City?
City matches are full of goals of late - 3-5-5-5-4-4-4. There have been 3 consecutive 3-1 results now, 1 loss Bayern, wins v Everton and West Ham.
City have scored 3-2-3 in their last 3 away matches.
In the CL, city have struggled. LDLDDLWL. 0-3 away win v Plzen, and 1-3 home loss to Bayern.
No draw away in the CL yet for City, and a real chance of a tight away win against a CSKA who simply can't score ( albeit against minnows plzen)
745pm - Anderlecht v Paris St-G - 1.47 away - no draw in last 15 for And. WWWWWLL at home in all competitions. Will they really lose a 3rd consecutive home match? They are priced to do so.
Anderlecht simply look out of their depth in the CL. DLLWLDLL in recent CL matches. 2-0 away loss to benfica and 0-3 home loss to Oly,piakos sees them struggle.
PSG top the group. With 10 wins and 3 score draws in last 13, they are in hot form. 5 consecutive wins now in all competitions. WWDWWWWW away from home in all competitions.
Unbeaten in their last 10 CL matches, includes a 1-4 away win v Oly and a 3-0 home win v benfica. You fear for Anderlecht tonight therefore.
WWWDW away in Cl, draw was a 1-1 v Barcelona.
745pm - B Munich v Plzen - 1.08 home - Only 3 draws since July 2013 for Bayern in all competitions and those were score draws. Expect goals therefore. The maximum for Bayern tends to level off at about 5 goals, and that is within the compass of a 1.08 shot if the market is accurate.
19 out of 19 wins at home ( I am discounting the Super cup draw v Chelsea).Only once did Bayern score more than 5 goals.
Bayern have won their last 7 Champions League matches and they have scored 4-3-2-3-3 during that time .
Only 1 draw at home in the CL since November 2009.
The last 3 homes were wins to nil.
Plzen have conceded 3 goals in each of their 2 CL matches in this group stage. 3 minimum therefore from Bayern/
745pm - Benfica v Olympiakos - 1.76 home - like the CSKA and City match, this Benfica and Oly match is vitally important as one team can take points off the other in 2nd in the group.
These 2 teams have furnished me with huge profits from a DRT perspective.
Only 1 defeat in last 10 for Benfica was in the CL against PSG 3-0 away.
WWWD in competitive matches at home this season. WL so far in this group, 2-0 win v Anderlecht and 3-0 away loss v PSG.
10 wins, a draw and a loss in last 12 for Oly seems them utterly dominant domestically.
4 clean sheets last 5.
WWDWWW away from home in all competitions.
Only 1 draw in last 29 CL matches for Oly was a 0-0.
1-4 loss to PSG and 0-3 away win v Anderlecht.
Only 1 away draw in CL in last 19 for Oly.
745pm - Galatasaray v FC Copenhagen - 1.44 home
Galatasary have been in really poor form domestically with DDDLDDLW . They scored and conceded in 7 of their last 8 matches, and they have scored and conceded in their last 5 matches at home .
With Real Madrid running away with the group, 2nd place is up for grabs so this is a really important match. What impact will the new manager Mancini have on Gala?
Gala are shipping goals at the moment, 6 against REal Madrid and 2 against Juve. Admittedly 1 came in the 87th minute, and Gala equalised in the 88th minute .
4 wins and 2 defeats in all competitions for Copenhagen of late, and one of those defeats was to Real Madrid.
DDDDWWW at home domestically, with a run of 6 scoring and conceding ending with a clean sheet last time out
A 1-1 home draw with Juve and a 0-4 loss to Real so far.
At home, I would have had Copenhagen as lively contenders. I'm not so sure away though, despite galatasary being in poor recent form.
Not a team which appeals at 1.44
745pm - Leverkusen v Shakhtar - 1.89 home
Since April 2013, Leverkusen have lost only 2 competitive matches in all compeptitions, v Schalke away and v Man Utd away.
Since August 2012, only top teams have beaten Leverkusen ( Bayern and Dortmund domestically) and Benfica ( 0-1)
10 wins at home, a draw v Bayern and a loss in last 12 is superb.
Leverkusen have scored in their last 16 home matches and in 28 of their last 29 homes.
No draw in 17 CL appearances, albeit spread from 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2011 and 2012, 2013. 2-1 home win v Sociedad in this group stage was fortunate ( 90th minute winner).
Shaktar are totally dominant domestically so that form is a distraction. Shaktar have scored 3-3-4-1-3-2-2-3-2-3 inr ecent aways.
Tend to struggle in Cl, LDLWD in recent matches. This season 0-2 away win v Sociedad and 1-1 home draw v United is reasonable form and puts Shaktar one point ahead of Leverkusen. With 2nd place likely to be between these 2, that one point current advantage could be crucial
Advantage Leverkusen for me at the moment. They only seem to lose against the top top sides.
745pm - Man Utd v Sociedad - 1.55 home - would you trust a David Moyes United at present? United have scored and conceded in 6 of their last 7 matches, very much an Everton trait from last season. They have only won 2 of their last 6 matches.
At home, it's an almost unheard of run of 2 winless matches, 1 1-2 loss to WBA and a 1-1 draw with Southampton. Where United used to score 2 at home, they have now only scored 1 in their last 3 matches.
I think we have to take Moyes Champions League adventure as distinct from Ferguson's. A 4-2 home win against Leverkusen followed by a 1-1 draw with Shaktar, again scoring only one goal and conceding a late equaliser.
LLW at home in last 3 Champions League matches.
Sociedad have been poor of late LDLDLDLLW. That win came against Valencia away from home. DDLLLW away from home in all competitions, In the CL, WWLL, and 2 losses in the group to Shaktar at home 0-2 and 2-1 away loss to Leverkusen which was a shade unlucky as the goal came in the 90th minute.
Similarly one of Shaktar's goals came in the 87th minute.
Might we see some late action this evening?
745pm - Real Madrid v Juventus - 1.61 home - This match is more important for Juve than for Real Madrid who are clear at the head of the group. Juve hold a 1 point advantage in 2nd place.
2 slight shocks this season domestically in a 2-2 draw v Villareal and a 0-1 loss to Ath Madrid. The last 2 matches were 2-3 win and 2-0 win but goals have been coming late and just in the nick of time. Wholly unconvincing.
17 home wins in all competitions have been punctuated by 2 negative results against Ath madrid.
In the CL, Madrid beat Gala 1-6 and Copenhagen 4-0. Goals abound.
Juve have been shipping goals - 1-1-1-1-1-0-2-2-4 at just the wrong time. Bang goes my theory that we'd see a typical Italian team tough to score against!
0-2 up against Fiorentina and it ended 4-2!
Juve have scored in their last 10 aways which might hold out some hope for tonight.
LLDD in their last 4 CL matches, 2 1-1 2-2 score draws now against Copenhagen and Galatasary does not augur well tonight. In both matches the opponents scored first.
If Juve score first tonight, lay them with confidence.
Watch out for very late goals from Real as well. They make a habit of it and it is very profitable for DRT
