There'll be no live chat today. It's one of those days! I hope you find something in the stats which you can use. Please do email me or leave comments here if you have any questions.
3pm - Kuban Krasnodar v Anzhi Makhachkala
In a poor day of football we do not have traditional DRT matches ( short priced favourites , red hot favourites.)
This is the first match and sees Kuban inserted as 1.7 favourites.
1-0, 2-2., 1-0 when these 2 have met in the past at Kuban
Standout stats
- Anzhi have not won any matches this season
- Kuban have only won 1 of their last 7 matches.
- Both sides have only kept 1 clean sheet each this season.
- Although Kuban have not beaten any team above them in the league, they have 3 wins and a 0-0 draw against teams below them ( and Anzhi are below them presently).
- Anzhi have 3 score draws against 12th, 13th, 14th and they are playing 11th today.
- Kuban have scored and conceded in all bar 1 home match today.
- Anzhi have scored and conceded in all away matches against teams outside of the top 4.
- Each team has only 1 0-0 this season.
Profitable in play opportunities
- No win for Anzhi this season does not discount a draw, and if a draw, most likely a score draw
- Teams tend to avoid the 0-0, so if 0-0 late on, lay it.
- Both sides have kept only 1 clean sheet all season , so expect both teams to score?
- Kuban's record at home against teams below them is very good scoring 3 in 2 wins at home. Anzhi are below them/
- With a thought that both teams could score, lay Anzhi especially if they get the first goal.
530pm - Dinamo Bucharest v Concordia Chiajna
In another match from a rather unsuitable league, I have shortlisted this match because Dinamo Bucharest are 1.47 favourites, and this match is on www.soccerstats.com
Dinamo have scored 2-2-3 in their 3 head to heads, the last though was a friendly.
Standout stats
- Concordia seem to have played fewer matches than Dinamo ( 8 to their 11) yet are only 1 position below them in the league.
- All losses for Dinamo home and away have come against current top 9. 3 wins came against 13th ( away), 16th at home and 18th at home.
- Dinamo have scored in their 5 at home and last 8 overall. Dinamo have conceded in their last 5 matches overall.
- Dinamo have scored and conceded in 7 of their last 8 matches.
- 3/4 defeats for Dinamo this season came away from home.
- Only 1 draw for Concordia in their 8 matches this season was a 1-1 draw. Win, Loss , Loss in their 3 away matches.
- Concordia have lost to top 7 only away from home
- Only 1 0-0 scoreline produced in these 2 teams' matches this season.
Profitable in play opportunities.
- Dinamo could continue their goalscoring record at home Dinamo have been conceding in their last 7 matches. Will the continue?
- Concordia have tended to avoid draws this season . Can we implement that in play?
530pm - Panaitolikos ( Pana from hereonin) v AEL Kalloni
I tend normally to focus on Olympiakos in the Greek League. As it is a quiet day, I'll look at this match as the favourite in the home team at 1.77
Standout stats
- Only 2 head to heads saw Kalloni winning to nil.
- 11th v 12th and what a contrast. In Pana we have a team with 4 draws in their last 5 matches. In AEL , we have a team without a draw this season.
- Pana have not conceded at home and have 3 0-0's in their last 5 matches overall.
- Pana's goal trends obviously heavily bent on under 2.5 goals.
- 4 of Kalloni's 5 defeats this season against top 7. They beat 13th and 16th away from home.
- 1st and 3rd only beat Kalloni 1-0 ( at home), so they are obviously set up to frustrate when called for.
Profitable in-play opportunities
- What chance will a back of 0-0, 1-0, 0-1 have in this match? Even under 1.5 goals? This is scuppered by an early goal though.
- What do we make of the away side's dominance in head to heads?
- Will Kalloni continue not to draw this season? If you think so, lay the draw as late as possible at the shortest odds you can get.
6pm - SC Kalsdorf v St Polten
I normally wouldn't touch this match with the biggest bargepole in the world if it was a choice between this and the major leagues, but ona quiet day, and at 1.62 , the away side St Polten are worth investigating
Standout stats
To be honest I can find no pertinent stats at my favoured stats site, so this lower league Austrian match is quickly put aside.
7pm - Maccabi Tel Aviv v Bnei Sakhnin
This Israeli top flight. Not admittedly a league I know much about. I do recognise 1.44 shots Maccabi Tel Aviv though through their Champions League exploits.
Standout stats
- Maccabi have scored 3-2-3-5-4-3 in head to heads and kept 2 clean sheets in the last 2 meetings
- Only 1 defeat for Maccabi in the league since January 2013.
- 6 consecutive clean sheets now for Maccabi.
- Since February 2012, Maccabi have won all bar 2 losses and a draw at home.
- They have kept 12 clean sheets in their last 13 matches.
- 13 matches unbeaten for Bnei but 8 draws in those matches, 4 clean sheets and 4 1-1's/
- Bnei have reasonable form away, albeit unbeaten with draw, draw, loss , win, draw, draw, draw, draw, win, draw. They have an inability to kill of matches. 4 1-1s and a 0-0 in those 5 draws.
Profitable in play opportunities
- Head to heads and home form points to a Maccabi team utterly dominant.
- 6 clean sheets points to a possible Maccabi shut out, and given the number of draws Bnei have had recently, a 0-0 back pre-match might be worth taking as insurance if you are to trade in-play.
- The Bnei draws really will throw a spanner in the works for confident siding with the home side.
745pm - Brighton v Watford.
The odds suggest this is a tough match to read, and as such under normal circumstances this would not make my shortlist. As it is an english league match, I will note the stats as I know there'll be interest. This is taking place at the American Express community stadium. ( sigh! the World is one big advert!)
Standout stats
- 2.76 for the home side and 2.82 for the away side suggests a tight match this evening.
- Head to head offer no patterns at all with Watford and Brighton 1-0 wins alternated between 2-2 and 1-3scorelines, latterly a Watford win.
- Brighton have only 3 wins this season, 2 of which came at home.
- Watford are in 7th place, and Brighton have lost at home to 6th and 8th, scoring and conceding.
- Brighton have scored in their 6 home matches.
- Brighton have a strong season long under 2.5 goals trend.
- Win, draw, loss, win , loss , win for Watford away from home. Watford have failed to score in only 2 matches and have kept only 2 clean sheets this season, so there is goals in their matches.
- Watford have conceded in their last 5 away matches. Watford have not had a draw in their last 6 away matches.
- Watford are yet to have a 0-0 final score this season.
Profitable in play opportunities
- Brighton at home might be vulnerable to top 8 sides?
- Will Brighton continue to score at home and will Watford continue to score -they have only failed to score in 2 matches all season.
9pm - Getafe v Ath Bilbao
This La Liga Match sees Getafe at 2.66 favourites at home. These matches I would not normally entertain purely based on these odds.
This is a match between 5th and 6th and there really is not that strong market leader we crave for DRT
Standout stats
- 3 draws and 2 Getafe wins in head to heads. 3 of the last 4 meetings saw 2 0-0's and a 1-0.
- Getafe are unbeaten at home, and have scored 2 minimum in their 4 home matches.
- Overall getafe have had only the one draw, a 2-2. This suggests laying the draw might be a viable option.
- Getafe have scored 2-1-2-2-3-2 in most recent matches, consistent goal scoring.
- Getafe have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 4 matches.
- This all looks solid but Getafe are yet to play any current top 14 teams at home.
- 3 consecutive away losses for Ath now against 3rd, 8th and 13th. They are playing 5th today.
- In 3 of 4 away matches, Ath have scored and conceded.
- Ath have conceded in all away matches
- Neither team has had a 0-0 this season.
Profitable in play opportunities
- if you were to look at Getafe's form at face value you'd think, solid favourite. But then they are yet to play top 14 teams at home. Similarly 4 of Bilbao's 5 wins have come against bottom 7 sides.
- Getafe seem to have goals in them, but the fact that they are yet to meet the better form sides in Spain means we cannot gauge whether they will continue their scoring against better opponents.
- Neither team has had a 0-0 and this may be what we cling to for in play purposes in what is a tough match to read and get a good angle on. As you would expect with 5th v 6th.
