1230pm - Cologne v Paderborn - 1.44 home

130pm - Tottenham v Everton - 2.05 home
Standout stats

  • like Crystal Palace, the new manager's results must be distinct from the more defensive previous incumbent.
  • the head to heads have favoured the home side historically.
  • this is 6th v 5th in effectively a battle for 4th spot.
Tottenham
  • only 2 defeats for Sherwood's Spurs in 12 matches were against Liverpool and Manchester City.
  • Those defeats came at home and suggest an inability to cope with the top top sides at home. Home wins have come against Stoke City and Crystal Palace under Sherwood
  • Both teams have scored in 9 of Sherwood's 12 matches in charge.
  • Spurs have failed to score in only 1 match under Tim Sherwood.
  • Spurs have kept only 2 clean sheets in 12 matches under Sherwood.
  • Spurs have had only 2 0-0's at halftime under Sherwood
  • all bar one of Spurs' home defeats came v top 8.
Everton
  • have only lost 3 matches all season.
  • have only won 1 of their last 5 away matches , 3 of those results were 1-1.
  • have failed to score in only 2 of their last 13 matches.
  • have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 10 matches.
  • Everton have only lost to top 4sides away, but they have only won 4 away matches as well, so draws are frequent.
  • have had 8 0-0's at halftime
  • Everton have scored 12 of their 14 away goals in the last 1/2 hour of matches.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this is another tight premiership match which could see both sides score. As Everton score 12 of their 14 away goals in the last 1/2 hour, it is logical to assume that Spurs might be the first goal scorers, and as such I think they might be vulnerable.
  • Everton's 8 0-0's at halftime suggest they can keep it tight for a short while.
  • I think Spurs are vulnerable to dropping points against the top 10 sides and as such I would lay them if they lead 2-0 for instance.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

130pm - Zwolle V Ajax - 1.5 away
Standout stats

  • 7 out of 7 wins in head to heads
  • this is 8th v 1st
Zwolle
  • have won their last 3 matches , conceding in each,
  • have scored and conceded in 9 of their last 11 matches.
  • won their last home match after a 4 match winless run at home.
  • have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 13 matches.
  • have lost all bar 1 match this season against teams above them.
  • have scored and conceded at home to teams above them
  • have conceded in their last 8 matches
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime
Ajax
  • have only lost 3 matches this season.
  • have won 9 and drawn 1 of their last 10 matches.
  • 5 consecutive away wins ended with a 1-1 v Utrecht.
  • have only lost to 7th and above.
  • Ajax are more vulnerable away from home. they have not won the 5 matches played away to top 10.
  • have scored in their last 10 matches
  • have had only 2 0-0's at halftime away
  • have scored 10 in each half away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Ajax dominate head to heads, but I'd be more confident if they were at home.
  • Zwolle are more likely to concede and are vulnerable to teams above them.
  • Ajax though have not beaten the 5 teams in the top 10 they have played away.
  • A match I can hopefully watch and decide that way. Head to heads suggest Ajax can fight back if conceding first.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

130pm - Standard Liege V Zulte Waregem - 1.5 home
Standout stats

  • there have been 3 1-0's  ( 2 Zulte wins) , a 3-4 and a 0-0 in the last 5 head to heads so this is no gimme.
  • Anderlecht dropped 2 points yesterday so Standard can rub it in with a win. This is 1st v 4th so Zulte are having a good season.
Standard
  • have only lost one match this season, a 1-0 v Zulte.
  • are on a 14 match unbeaten run.
  • have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last  matches.
  • have kept 3 clean sheets
  • have only failed to score in 3 this season.
  • have not yet beaten top 4 sides home or away this season.
Zulte
  • have only lost 3 all season, including 2 1-0 losses in their last 2 away matches.
  • no win in 6 away matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2, and they were the last 2 away matches
  • have scored and conceded in 9 of 11 away matches.
  • have only won 2 aways

Profitable in play opportunities

  • a tough match for Standard Liege it seems. Although it will be made easier of course if Zulte fail to score again away.
  • Zulte are the only team to beat Standard this season.
  • With Standard only failing to score in 3, and Zulte in 2, you'd expect goals, but the head to heads have typically been 1-0 or 0-0.
  • Not a match which greatly appeals. I suppose the value is in laying Standard based on head to heads.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2pm - Lazio v Roma - 2.05 away
Standout stats

  • this is a local derby and as such is one of those " Liverpool v Arsenal" matches, where it's the best team on the day who will win. I will not research this Rome derby therefore. I will look in-play ( if I am around), as yesterday we successfully found a number of 0-0's to lay in running.

Profitable in play opportunities

2pm - Parma v Catania - 1.6 home
Standout stats

  • Parma have not won the last 6 head to heads, so we have a potential " bogey" team in Catania, and the head to head form flies in the face of Parma being a 1.6 shot. You have to decide whether the parma of head to heads or the recent form Parma is the team to side with.
  • this is 8th v 20th and I suppose Catania's woeful season is the reason for the Parma odds today
Parma
  • an extra week's rest after their last match was postponed.
  • a 10 match unbeaten run includes wins in the last 4 matches.
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season
  • have kept 5 clean sheets only this season, but 2 clean sheets in their last 3 home matches.
  • only home defeats have come against 1st and 2nd
  • had a 0-0 with CAtania earlier this season, so backing 0-0 pre match might be a good value start
  • have scored 8 of their 12 first half goals in the last 1/4 hour of the first half.
Catania
  • only 3 wins all season, all at home and all wins to nil
  • have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 away matches.
  • A recent 0-0 away v Inter Milan a reminder to Parma that Catania are likely to park a double decker bus infront of goal
  • 7 consecutive away defeats ended with that 0-0 draw latest.
  • have lost all away , conceding 2+ in defeats, bar that 0-0 v Inter latest.
  • have only scored 5 away goals, conceding 27.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • quite simply you must chose between the Catania who tend to get a result in head to heads, consistently, against Parma, and the Catania who have lost all away matches, conceding 2+ goals, bar a 0-0 with Inter.
  • Are Catania a bogey team? If you think so, perhaps a 0-0 pre-match back to lay is the call.
  • on recent Form , Parma are likely to win, and could score 3/4 goals ( and might concede)> That's if the Catania who have been so poor away this season turn up today. They have conceded 27 goals away this season.
  • The value is in presuming Catania are a "bogey" team, but it remains to be seen if that "bogey" team supercede poor recent form.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2pm - Verona v Juventus - 1.44 away
Standout stats

  • only 1 head to heads of relevance saw Juventus come from behind to win 2-1
  • this is 5th v 1st. Hellas Verona having a cracking return to Seria A.
Verona
  • only 2 draws all season
  • 3 defeats in their last 4 were against napoli, AC Milan and Roma, which suggests the big boys are a step too far.
  • only 3 clean sheets all season
  • have conceded 3 in each of their last 2 home matches.
  • no draws at home. Have won all home matches bar defeats to 2nd, 3rd and 16th ( Chievo Verona= local derby). A suggestion Juventus will add to the list as they are the 3rd top 3 side to meet Verona at home.
  • 73% over 2.5 goals over all matches this season.
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime at home.
Juventus
  • have lost only one match this season, and they were 0-2 up at halftime in that match.
  • a run of 5 consecutive away wins ended with a 1-1 draw v Lazio.
  • 13 wins in their last 14 matches.
  • have scored either 3 or 4 goals in 6 of their last 7 matches.
  • have scored in all matches.
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • no halftime 0-0's in their last 8 matches.
  • against 6th to 9th inclusive away, matches have been very tight ( 1-1, 0-1, 0-1, 1-1) Verona are 5th
  • no 0-0's this season
  • have had 5 0-0's at halftime away from home
  • have scored 16 of their 21 away goals in the 2nd half.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • Juventus are marginally more vulnerable away from home, as seen by those tight matches against teams near Verona's in the league, but looking at Verona v the top 3 at home, and they have lost, conceding 3, and played 2 of the top 3 in their last 2 home matches. This could be another home defeat, and at their best, Juventus scoring 3 ( remember they've scored 3 or 4 in 6 of their last 7 matches)
  • I am not sure regarding a 0-0 halftime score. 16 of Juve's 21 away goals are scored in the 2nd half.
  • Hellas Verona are yet to draw at home. Faith in them avoiding a draw if you see one late on - lay it low and late.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2pm - Sivasspor V Fenerbahçe - 1.9 away
Standout stats

  • a match to take a look at as Fenerbahce are top
  • 2 consecutive 0-0's when Fenerbahce have visited.
  • this is 4th v 1st
Sivasspor
  • only 2 draws all season.
  • have won 6 of their last 7 home matches.
  • have scored 3 in each of  their last 3 home matches.
  • have only failed to score in 4 this season.
  • only 1 clean sheet in their last 9 matches
  • are yet to play top 3 at home this season
  • no draw at home. Have scored and conceded in the 3 homes v 5th, 6th, 7th.
  • have scored in all bar one home match.
Fenerbahce
  • only 2 draws this season.
  • have only lost 3 all season, 2 of them came in their last 2 away matches. Will they really lose a 3rd consecutive away match?
  • have scored and conceded in 10 of their last 12 matches.
  • have failed to score in only 1 match all season.
  • only 2 clean sheets in 12 matches
  • are yet to play top 4 away .
  • have scored and conceded away in all bar 1 match.
  • have scored in their last 12 matches
  • no 0-0 away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • 0-0 pre match back to lay incase we get another 0-0 when Fenerbahce visit.
  • that said, I expect both teams to score today . Fenerbahce ( although yet to meet top 4 it must be added) have scored and conceded in all bar 1 away this season.
  • Sivasspor have only kept 1 clean sheet in 9 matches.
  • both teams tend to avoid draws, which is another argument perhaps in favour of goals rather than the 0-0 of the last 2 head to heads at Sivasspor.
  • No halftime stats in turkey
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

230pm - Stuttgart v Augsburg - 2.37 home
Standout stats

  • the last 5 head to heads were over 2.5 goals.
  • Stuttgart won 3 head to heads, Augsburg won the last 2 head to heads, hence the non committal 2.37 odds for Stuttgart
  • this is 14th v 9th
Stuttgart
  • 7 defeats and 2 wins in their last 9 matches.
  • have scored and conceded in their last 5 matches.
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime all season.
  • have only won 1 of their last 7 home matches, losing their last 2 home matches 1-2
  • Stuttgart have scored first in their last 3 matches, and lost all 3.
  • have only failed to score in 3 matches
  • have only kept 2 clean sheets all season
  • all of Stuttgart's defeats this season have come against top 9 sides - Augsburg are 9th!!
  • have conceded in their last 12 matches
  • no 0-0's this season
Augsburg
  • in stark contrast to Stuttgart, Augsburg are unbeaten in 7.
  • only 1 win in their last 8 away matches.'
  • have scored and conceded in their last 4 matches.
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime in 13.
  • have failed to score in only 4 matches.
  • have only kept 4 clean sheets all season.
  • have only beaten 16th and 17th away ( 0-1)
  • have had 3 0-0's at halftime away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • 0-0 halftime score lay looks worth considering. Also these 2 teams are unlikely to have a 0-0 today.
  • both teams have scored and conceded in their most recent 4/5 matches. Will that continue today?
  • Stuttgart are in very poor form, and if they score first, lay them ( in their last 3 matches, they have scored first , and then lost).
  • Stuttgart have lost all matches v top 9. Augsburg are 9th ( and have won the last 2 head to heads).

3pm - Portimonense V Trofense - 1.57 home
Standout stats

  • this is a Liga de Honra match. I thought this was a top flight match. Just note that Portimonense are 1.57 to win so if Trofense take the lead ( much like Millwall yesterday away at similarly priced Burnley) then we can look into it.

Profitable in play opportunities

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4pm - Manchester Utd v Fulham - 1.22 home
Standout stats

  • oh Lordy,it's unreliable Moyes and his boys
  • Mata is the big signing for United and Mitroglou is Fulham's signing from Olympiakos
  • Note that both sides have new managers which might negate head to heads so I will not factor head to heads in here.
  • this is 7th v 20th.
manchester United
  • no draw in 11, but losing 5 of those matches.
  • United have lost 3 of their last 5 matches, beating struggling Cardiff and manager-less Swansea only. Those 2 wins were at home and 2-0.
  • United have 3 wins and 3 defeats in their last 6 home matches.
  • United have failed to score in only 4 matches this season.
  • against 17th and below at home, United have won 2-0, 3-1, 2-0.
  • the 4 defeats at home have either been 0-1 or 1-2. If Fulham win, you suspect it would be the former scoreline.
  • have not had a draw in 8 home matches.
  • have scored in their last 9 matches.
Fulham
  • have only had 1 draw all season. And it's not because they're winning!
  • 13 defeats in their last 16 matches.
  • have failed to score in 6 of their last 8 away matches
  • have failed to score in the last 3 matches.
  • have had 4 0-0's at halftime in their last 5 matches, suggesting they start defensively.
  • have lost all matches home and away v top 9, failing to score in all bar 1 of their away defeats.
  • have had 7 0-0's at halftime away.
  • have conceded 20 of their 28 goals in the 2nd half away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this Manchester United side are out of luck and totally unreliable betting mediums but if they cannot beat a team as dire as Fulham, then they really are in trouble.
  • United do tend to find a goal at least in matches. So , while it is conceivable that we might see a 0-0 at halftime, this should not be the final score.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4pm - Sporting Gijón V Ponferradina - 1.51 home
Standout stats

  • this is a segunda division match . I will not research it. Just note that Sporting Gijon are at home and strong favourites.

Profitable in play opportunities

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

430pm - Schalke v Hannover - 1.57 home
Standout stats

  • both sides have scored in 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • Schalke have won their last 2 home matches in head to heads
  • this is 4th v 10th
Schalke
  • only 2 defeats in 13 matches.
  • Schalke have won 5 of their last 6 home matches.
  • have failed to score in only 3 all season.
  • have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches.
  • have scored 2+ in 7 of their last 9 matches.
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime all season
  • all bar one of Schalke's 5 defeats has come v top 6 sides
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime at home
  • have scored 7 goals in the last 1/4 hour at home
Hannover
  • have only won 1 away match this season, and that was their last away match
  • have scored and conceded in 8 of their last 10 matches
  • have only kept 3 clean sheets all season
  • have scored 2-3-1-3-3 in their last 5 matches.
  • have lost to 1st, 2nd , 3rd and 5th away,and are playing 4th today.
  • have lost all away bar a 1-3 win v 6th
  • have scored in their last 7 overall and conceded in their last 5 overall
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime away

Profitable in play opportunities

  • strong stats to suggest we lay the 0-0 halftime score.
  • Hannover have found their scoring boots of late which cannot be ignored, 10 goals in 4 matches, yet they failed to score away v top 5 sides.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Trabzonspor V Akhisar Belediyespor - 1.61 home
Standout stats
Profitable in play opportunities

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Real Sociedad v Levante - 1.5 home
Standout stats

  • Sociedad have had trouble getting a win when Levante come to town. 1-1, 1-3, 1-1 in the last 3 meetings.
  • this is 6th v 10th
Real Sociedad
  • only 1 win in 4 puts paid to an excellent recent run of 8 wins in 10 matches.
  • have won their last 6 home matches
  • 13 over 2.5 goals matches in their last 14.
  • no 0-0 at halftime in 14 matches.
  • all defeats , bar one, has come against top 5 sides this season
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime at home
  • have scored 19 2nd half goals at home compared to 8 first half goals.
Levante
  • 6 defeats in 7 matches has ended with 4 unbeaten matches.
  •  defeats away ended with a 2-3 win against Sevilla.
  • have lost away to 1st, 2nd and 4th.
  • have conceded 2 goals at least away to top 9 sides
Profitable in play opportunities
  • Levante seem to concede 2 against top teams away from home, so work around this assumption.
  • This should assure another over 2.5 goals match for Sociedad.
  • A chance that 0-0 halftime score lay could come in.
  • If Sociedad do not score first half, they should score 2nd half.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Benfica V Sporting Lisbon - 1.75 home
Standout stats
Profitable in play opportunities

645pm - Porto V Pacos Ferreira - 1.2 home
Standout stats

  • this is 3rd v 15th of 16
  • Porto have won 5 of the last 6 matches. They won the last 2 home matches 2-0 and 3-0
Porto
  • only 3 defeats all season but they have come in the last 7 matches.
  • 7 wins and a single draw at home
  • 3 consecutive clean sheets at home.
  • clean sheets and all wins, scoring 2+ against 6th and below at home.
  • no 0-0 this season
Pacos Ferreira
  • only 3 wins all season and one came in their last match.
  • 4 defeats and 2 draws in the last 6 away matches.
  • have scored and conceded in their last 3 away matches.
  • only 3 clean sheets all season.
  • have lost all matches home and away v top 6 sides.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • this all looks rather straightforward and it is these straightforward matches which are perfect for DRT. We want to see Porto make a horlicks of this winnable match, and then we pounce. Porto are expected to score 2+ goals today and likely keep a clean sheet.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Inter v Sassuolo - 1.36 home
Standout stats

  • the only head to heads was a 0-7 win for Inter Milan
  • this is 6th v 19th.
Inter Milan
  • Inter are glad they are back at home, having lost their last 4 away matches.
  • Inter have, though, drawn 4 of their last 5 matches at home which has pretty much ended their title hopes.
  • Inter have failed to score in 2 of their last 3.
  • have kept only 2 clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
  • in all matches home and away v bottom 3, Inter have kept clean sheets.
  • have only lost 1 home match.
  • have had 5 0-0's at home at halftime.
Sassuolo
  • 7 defeats in their last 8 matches. They beat AC Milan 4-3 and were 0-3 down in that match.
  • have failed to score in 5 of their last 8 matches.
  • only 2 clean sheets all season.
  • 2 draws away v 2nd and 3rd is interesting, but have lost 2-0 to 5th and 7th, and Inter Milan are 6th
  • have only had 1 0-0 at halftime away from home.
  • have conceded 14 first half goals away.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • a chance for Inter Milan to end their draw sequence at home against a Sassuolo with only 2 clean sheets all season.
  • Inter have failed to score in 2 of their last 3 matches so perhaps a 0-0 pre match back to lay, given that Sassuolo have failed to score in 6 of their last 8..
  • You suspect though that Sassuolo will be in trouble today
  • 0-0 halftime score lay  should come in.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Sevilla v Barcelona - 1.5 away
Standout stats

  • both teams have scored in the last 3 head to heads
  • Barcelona have won the last 2 head to heads;
  • this is 7th v 2nd. Atl Madrid have 3 points in hand now.
Sevilla
  • have had 2 consecutive 3-2 defeats.
  • have scored and conceded in 17 of their last 20 matches.
  • have only failed to score in 2 all season
  • have only kept 3 clean sheets all season
  • Sevilla have played 4 of the top 11 sides at home, losing 3 and drawing 1. A step too far?
  • have scored in their last 10 matches
  • 80% over 2.5 goals at home
  • no 0-0's at home
  • only 2 0-0's at halftime at home
  • no opponent has yet led at halftime at home ( but not played top 3 at home yet)
Barcelona
  • have put their title hopes in jeopardy with poor performances recently. They have only won 1 of their last 4 matches, and had 2 consecutive draws.
  • a recent 2-3 loss to Valencia ( and remember Sevilla's 2 consecutive 2-3 defeats too!. What chance another 2-3 today?)
  • Barcelona have drawn their last 2 away matches , surely a sequence which must end soon?
  • have failed to score in only 3 this season.
  • Of the top 8 away, Barcelona have only played 1st ( 0-0) and 4th ( 1-0 loss)
  • interestingly Barcelona have only had 45% over 2.5 goals away from home.
  • 9 of Barca's 13 first half goals away have been scored in the last 1/4 hour
  • Barcelona have conceded only 2 goals in the 2nd half of away matches.

Profitable in play opportunities

  • there are some small sequences we would expect to end. For instance, Sevilla have had 2 consecutive 2-3 defeats. Indeed Barca's last match was a 2-3 defeat.
  • Barcelona have also had 2 consecutive away draws. Very rarely do barcelona go 2 matches without a win. Look for these sequences to potentially end.
  • Both sides look as if they will score today.
  • 0-0 halftime score lay is expected to be successful.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Monaco v PSG - 2.25 away
Standout stats

  • this is an interesting match between the top sides in France
  • 3 consecutive draws in head to heads
  • This is 2nd v 1st
Monaco
  • have only lost 2 matches
  • have scored 2 in their last 3 matches.
  • have won 7 of their last 9 home matches.
  • have failed to score in only 2 matches
  • have kept 7 clean sheets in their last 10 matches.
  • have not played top 3 at home this season.
  • have scored in their last 11 matches.
  • have only had 2 0-0's at halftime at home
  • have scored 19 goals and conceded only 6 at home
PSG
  • have lost only 1 match all season
  • have failed to score in only 1 match
  • have not played the top 3 away but scored at least 2 away to 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th
  • have had only 2 0-0's away
  • have scored 19 away goals and conceded only 10

Profitable in play opportunities

  • it must be said this is one of those " one off" matches featuring 1st and 2nd in the league. So bear that in mind if getting involved.
  • Note that neither side has met top 3 opponents at home/away so it is a relative mystery how they'll perform.
  • Both sides have only had 2 0-0's at halftime at home/away
  • it was a 1-1 draw the last time these 2 met. This match is tough to read.
