sunday 10th august 2014

Summary of yesterday's matches

530pm - Blovstrod v Bronshoj  - 1.12 away
1-9 to the away side and another vindication for the idea that these odds equal goals, and then some!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
530pm - Viby IF v AC Horsens  - 1.36 away
It was "welcome solace" for AC Horsens with a 1-4 win in the cup.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
630pm - Flora Tallinn v JK Kose  - 1.03 home
Wouldn't you just credit it! I opt for an 11-0 and Flora go and win 13-0. It would have been 11-0 were it not for 2 own goals. Yet again, as with Bronshoj, speculate on goals, and lots of them, when you see these kinds of odds. Imagine the payout for an 11-0 scoreline!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

730pm - Man Utd v Valencia  - 1.67 home
A nice late profit if you followed the idea that Van Gaal would want to win his first match at home.
The match was 0-0 at halftime and 1-1 coming up to the 91st minute only for Fellaini to score a 92nd minute United winner. Did anyone keep faith with United in this friendly?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Blackburn v Scunthorpe  - 1.55 home
Blackburn did end their 5 match drawing streak , albeit with a 0-1 away win.
Favouring Blackburn did not pay off, and it may pay to remind us that the League cup, like the Europa League, is a tricky contest to read.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
745pm - Brighton v Cheltenham  - 1.51 home
Little interest here, and Brighton won 2-0 . I did ask the question whether you were with the team from the better league or not? In this case, it paid off after a 0-0 at halftime.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Chelsea v Sociedad  - 1.4 home
A nice angle into this match , what with Chelsea not winning in 3 home matches. They won 2-0 , albeit no real DRT's here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Leeds v Accrington S  - 1.55 home
Leeds stats did look good in the League Cup and they won 2-1 with the minimum of fuss really , despite a red card. No DRT here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Millwall v Wycombe  - 1.55 home
Well, we were right to think Wycombe didn't prioritse this competition. Millwall won 1-0 and the scorer was sent off in the 2nd half. Millwall remained calm and won.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Real Madrid v Sevilla  - 1.42 home
2 Ronaldo goals either side of halftime ensured an easy 2-0 win for Real Madrid. No real DRTs here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

745pm - Wolves v Northampton  - 1.4 home
Both sides did score today, and 1.4 shots Wolves were 0-2 down to 2 2nd half goals. Were you taken by the 1.4 shots at home getting back into this. After all "both sides" were expected to score.
If you layed Northampton at 0-2 up, you'd have been greatly rewarded with a 2-2.
And laying the 2-2 resulted in a profit 2, as Northampton won 2-3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Bolton v Bury  - 1.65 home
"Bury avoiding the draw". Well it was 0-1 until the 97th minute. Was that enough to ensure the lay of any draw produced a profit, with the equaliser coming in "Fergie " time.?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8pm - Reading v Newport County  - 1.55 home
Both teams did indeed score and we were treated to another goal laden 3-1 Reading win, as is the norm for Reading in the League Cup
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On to today

12pm - FC Ufa v Dinamo Moscow  - 1.45 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
230pm - Ural v Zenit St Petersburg  - 1.4 away
Standout stats
  • this is the Russian Premier league
  • 2-1 wins for Zenit in 2013 head to heads and in the last one, Zenit came from behind
  • Only 2 matches played
Ural
  • A loss and a draw where both teams scored this season
  • 11th last season and lost 7 and drew 2 matches at home to top 9 teams last season
Zenit
  • 0-4 and 8-1 so far in 2 wins, both 3-0 at halftime
  • 6 wins and a draw away to 10th and lower last season

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • goals today expected especially if Ural continue to score and concede ( and note head to head see botht teams score).
  • Advantage Zenit given Ural's record last season at home to top 9 side.
  • Ural may score first. Back Zenit if Ural do score first.
  • So far, Zenit are scoring 3 goals a game before halftime. So remember we have a very small sample indeed ( 2 matches), but it might suggest a lay of 0-0 halftime score
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4pm - Chomutov v FK Jablonec  - 1.16 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4pm - MFK Chrudim v Slavia Prague  - 1.25 away
Standout stats
  • the Czech Cup sees a 3 Liga team play a top flight team.
  • Chrudim are yet to have a draw in their cup games.
  • Slavia Prague have had 2 consecutive 0-0's the the cup away from home.

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • 1.17 away from home at William Hill suggests an easy assignment for Slavia Prague. They have a 2 match 0-0 away sequence to end. Bet on that ending today, particularly as MFK have never had a draw in the Cup ( and 0-0 is a draw).
  • Speculators might like to back 0-0 pre match and hope that lightning strikes, erm, thrice
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4pm - Sokol Brozany v Ceske Budejovice  - 1.08 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

4pm - Trebic v FC Brno  - 1.31 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
430pm - HJK Helsinki v FC Inter  - 1.39 home
Standout stats
  • this is the Finnish top league which sees 1st v 10th after 22 matches
  • HJK are unbeaten in head to heads. HJK have scored 3-2-3 in the last 3 head to heads, the last being a 3-3.
HJK
  • are unbeaten in 17 matches
  • have not conceded in their last 7 home matches
  • have kept 14 clean sheets in their last 17 matches
  • have failed to score in only 3 matches this season
  • 73% of home matches have seen a clean sheet
  • have only conceded 1 goal in the 2nd half at home.
  • have scored 7 goals in the last 1/4 hour of the first half.
FC Inter
  • 11 away matches without a win
  • have conceded in their last 8 away matches
  • 3 consecutive score draws
  • have scored and conceded in 7 of their last 8 matches
  • have conceded 11 first half and 12 2nd half goals away from home
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • HJK are on a superb run in stark contrast to Inter. Will HJK continue to keep a clean sheet at home against a team with 7 of their last 8 matches seeing both teams score?
  • A good DRT match given the home side are not expected to lose. If the match is 0-0 coming into the last 1/4 hour of the first half, chance a lay of the 0-0 halftime score
  • Lay Inter if Inter score first. It is unlikely though. Lay Inter in the halftime market if Inter score first in the first half.

430pm - KuPS v MyPa  - 1.93 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

430pm - Lahti v RoPS  - 1.67 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5pm - CSKA Moscow v Terek Grozni  - 1.54 home
Standout stats
  • this is a Russian Premier League match , a season only 2 matches old.
  • In 2013 head to heads, CSKA won 2 at home and Terek won 1 at their ground
  • Both sides are unbeaten this season, 2 wins for CSKA and a win and a draw for Terek
  • this is 1st v 12th from last year. Bear in mind CSKA only won the title by a point, it is crucial they win their home matches when expected to.
CSKA
  • a 10 match winning streak ended last season. At home they lost only 1 match and won all others bar a single 0-0
Terek Grozny
  • only 1 win last year away from home and they lost all away matches v top 5 sides.

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • sparse recent stats as the season has just kicked off. CSKA were very solid last year. Is that set to continue this season at home?
  • Terek traditionally lose to top 5 sides away from home.
  • Considering CSKA only won by a point last year, expect them to try to equalise if Terek score first.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Dortmund v B Munich  - 2.18 away
Standout stats
  • a fascinating match given that Bayern Munich now have Dortmund's star striker from last season.
  • This makes it difficult to read this German Super Cup match. How will Dortmund fare without Lewandowski?
  • It was a humdinger 4-2 to Dortmund in the last Super Cup match, followed by a Bayern 0-3 away win, a Dortmund 3-0 away win and a 0-0 in a local cup match.
  • Anything could happen! A match to leave alone.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7pm - FC Jurmala v FK Jelgava  - 1.14 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

5pm - FS METTA LU v Metalurgs Liepaja  - 1.5 away
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5pm - Nomme Kalju v Ambla Vallameeskond  - 1.01 home
Standout stats
  • I was so near yesterday with my 11-0 scoreline in the Estonian Cup. Nomme Kalju are even shorter than yesterday's team.
  • So look , if you want a speculative play, at a silly scoreline. 10-0, 12-0 that kind of thing for me.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

530pm - Avarta v Lyngby  - 1.3 away
Standout stats
  • 2nd division v 1st division in the Danish Cup
Avarta
  • have lost their last 4 matches in all competitions.
  • 6 losses and a 2-3 win in the Cup
  • A draw and 4 losses at home in the Cup. Failed to score in their last 2 home cup matches
Lyngby
  • have begun the new 1st division season with 2 wins to nil and a 1-1 draw.
  • 7 wins and 2 defeats in the Cup recently. They have only lost to top division sides.

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • this all looks rather straightforward which augurs well for DRT'er incase Avarta happen to score first. That might not happen as Lyngby have had 4 consecutive clean sheets in their last 4 wins.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm - Atvidabergs v IFK Goteborg  - 2.16 away
Standout stats
  • this is 8th v 6th in the Swedish top league which is 18 matches old so we should find patterns and sequences if there are any.
  • 6 consecutive wins for IFK in head to heads , 1-2 in their last 2 visits to Atvitabergs in stark contrast to the 3-0 and 5-0 at IFK
Atvidabergs
  • what a contrast. No wins away from home. At home, they have only lost one match, and won 6 of the other 8.
  • Wins at home have come against 3rd,4th and 5th at home
  • have conceded in their last 7 matches
  • only 2 wins in their last 7 matches did come at home
  • have scored first in 7 of their 9 home matches
IFK Goteborg
  • only 3 defeats this season but 2 came in their last 3 matches
  • Goteborg have a huge problem away from home. They have drawn 7 of their 9 away matches
  • only 3 wins in their last 12 matches, sees 7 draws
  • have conceded in their last 8 matches
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • Only 3 defeats for IFK this season on the face of it looks interesting, but they are drawing away from home, and that is the big problem. This draw sequence surely cannot continue. IF it does, it suggests both teams scoring and any team who happen to be 0-2 up should be layed.
  • With no wins away from home, Atvitabergs are reliant on home form, but will have to turn around utter dominance from Goteborg in head to heads, which DON'T see draws.
  • Can we lay any late draw in the hope Goteborg do not draw again?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6pm   - Brommapojkarna v Gefle  - 2.4 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6pm - Malmo FF v Orebro  - 1.39 home
Standout stats
  • this is 1st v 13th in the Swedish league
  • both teams have scored in the last 5 head to heads, where it's been 2-1 to Malmo 3 times, 2-1 to Orebro and 1-1.
Malmo
  • only 1 defeat all season
  • no defeat in 11 matches
  • have scored in their last 18 matches
  • have scored and conceded in their last 4 matches
  • have scored 2+ goals in 6 of their last 7 home matches
  • have not had a 0-0 at halftime in 12 matches
  • have scored 2+ at home in 7 of 9 matches
  • 89% over 2.5 goals at home
  • have scored 15 of their 20 home goals in the 2nd half.
Orebro
  • have scored in their last 6 matches overall
  • only 1 win in 12 came in their last match against 15th in the league
  • have not beaten any of the top 6 away from home this season
  • both teams have scored in 2/3rd of their matches this season
Profitable in-play opportunities

  • Another good DRT candidate given the dominance of the home side this season . Orebro matches tend to see both teams score which means if Orebro score first, we can back Malmo I think, as they have scored in all matches this season and tend to score 2+ goals . If Orebro lead coming into the halftime break, wait for the 2nd half as Malmo have scored 15 of their 20 goals in the 2nd half at home.
  • Lay 0-0 halftime score as late as you can in the first half, as Malmo have not had a 0-0 at halftime in 12 matches
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

605pm -AIK v Djurgardens  - 1.75 home
Standout stats
  • this is a Swedish top league match
  • This is 2nd v 7th after 18 matches. AIK really would like the win here as they are 4 points behind Malmo who also play today.
  • AIK are unbeaten in their last 5 head to heads, home head to heads have been 0-1, 1-1, 1-1. This is in stark contrast to the head to heads at Djurgardens which saw a 2-2 and 2-3 scoreline in the last 2 matches
AIK
  • 7 match winning streak at home
  • have scored in their last 17 matches
  • have only had 3 under 2.5 goals all sesaon
  • 6 wins in their last 7 matches
  • 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches
  • have lost at home to 6th and 8th and are playing 7th today - cause for concern?
  • both teams have scored in 72% of AIK matches this season
  • 83% over 2.5 goals all season
Djurgardens
  • only 2 wins in their last 12 matches
  • 3 losses in their last 4 matches were all 2-1 losses
  • have scored in their last 8 matches and conceded in their last 6 matches.
  • have played the top 4 4 times home and away and scored and conceded in these matches
  • have scored and conceded in 7 of their last 8 matches
  • both teams have scored in 70% of matches

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • either team could score first today. The stats this season point to both sides scoring, but recent head to heads at AIK have been 1-1 or therebouts. IS this a good correct score to bet on?
  • Or will AIK's 83% over 2.5 goals chance this?
  • Djurgardens have lost 2-1 and drawn 2-2 in their most recent matches
  • Normally if I expect both teams to score, I would lay the first team to go 2-0 up ( if a team does)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
745pm - St Johnstone v Celtic  - 1.54 away
Standout stats
  • Celtic's poor performance in the Champions League has left a question mark over the team for this opening match in the Scottish Premier League ( SPL)
  • 4 Celtic wins in head to heads ended with a 3-3 draw, where Celtic were 1-3 up before St Johnstone equalised. We must put that in context as I feel Celtic had the title wrapped up before this match
St Johnstone
  • A 1-2 away win at Ross County sees St Johnstone get off on the right foot this new season
  • Historically in the SPL, St Johnstone have been reasonable at home, Only 4 defeats in their last 16 home matches , the last 3 were 0-1.
Celtic
  • Originally lost to Legia Warsaw 0-2 at home in the 2nd leg of the Champions League. This has been changed to a 3-0 home win and thus Celtic going through because legia played an illegible player
  • Only Aberdeen beat Celtic in the SPL since May 2013
  • The above also applied to Celtic away matches last season

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • Obviously Celtic must be favoured here but their thumping by Legia Warsaw is a worry. They are so lucky to be still in the Champions League.. The last 3-3 with St Johnstone should be written off.
  • If St Johnstone score first, delay for a short while and see how the market reacts. I expect Celtic to win this opening match.
