SUNDAY

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1130am  - Juventus v Fiorentina - 1.44 home
Standout stats

  • 2 consecutive matches coming up 4 days apart for these 2 ( Europa League the 2nd match) so time for one to lay down a psychological marker?
  • Juventus have won the last 2 home matches 2-1 and 2-0 but Fiorentina won the last head to head 4-2
  • this is 1st v 4th
Juventus
  • only 1 defeat this season saw Juventus 0-2 up away at .......Fiorentina before losing 4-2
  • since then 16 wins, and 2 score draws
  • all home wins
  • have scored 3 against 2nd, 3rd and 5th at home
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime at home
  • 21 first half and 16 2nd half goals at home
Fiorentina
  • only 1 win in 6 matches
  • have failed to score in only 5 this season
  • have not beaten any of the top 9 sides away, with 2-1 losses to 2nd and 5th and a 2-2 draw v 6th, and 2 0-0's v 8th and 9th
  • 4 0-0's at halftime away ( 30%)
  • Guiseppe Rossi is the key goalscorer for Fiorentina
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • the first of a double header in 2 separate competitions
  • Juventus face the only team to beat them
  • Normally there is a goal before halftime at Juventus home matches
  • Fiorentina have lost 2-1 to top 4 away so perhaps they'll score today? They have, after all, failed to score in only 5 matches.
  • Juventus are expected to continue scoring at least a goal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

130pm - Go Ahead Eagles V Twente - 1.4 away
Standard stats

  • only 1 head to head in recent years saw a 3-1 win for Twente at home Go ahead scored from a penalty
  • this is 14th v 2nd. Twente are some 8 points shy of Ajax in what might be a lost cause for them
Go ahead eagles
  • only 1 win in 8 matches and lost 3-2 in their last 2 matches . The last match saw Go ahead eagles 2-0 up against PSV before losing. I remember this match.
  • 4-2-0-2-2-2 scored at home in their last 6 matches. Only Ajax kept them out.
  • only 1 clean sheet all season so faith that they will concede if this is 0-0 for a while
  • all 3 home defeats v 1st , 3rd and 5th  - a step too far perhaps?
  • 3 0-0's at halftime at home
  • only 1 0-0 at home
  • have conceded 14 goals in the last 1/2 hour of home matches - this is what killed the PSV game!
Twente
  • only 3 defeats all season, all away from home
  • have score drawn 3 of their last 4 matches
  • have failed to score in only 2 matches
  • have only won 1 of their last 5 matches away, 1-1, 0-2, 3-2, 1-1, 1-1
  • Draw, Loss , Draw away to teams right around Go ahead in the league.
  • have scored in their last 22 matches
  • no away 0-0's
  • no away 0-0's at halftime
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • both teams could score today, given Twente's recent collection of score draws, and Go Ahead eagle's impressive scoring at home .
  • Go ahead have only had one clean sheet all season so faith in them conceding if they are leading or it is 0-0 for a while - this is compounded by Twente's scoring in their last 22 matches
  • There is likely to be a goal before halftime.
  • I will favour Twente here as Go head tend to find the top 5 a step too far.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2pm - Lazio v Atalanta - 1.61 home
Standout stats

  • this is 8th v 13th
  • Lazio won 4 consecutive head to heads until Atalanta won 2-1 at home last match
  • 2 consecutive 2-0 wins for Lazio at home in head to heads
Lazio
  • unbeaten in 5 at home with draws v Juventus and Roma and wins in the other 3 of course
  • only 1 defeat in 9 matches
  • have won all matches against 14th and lower scoring either 2 or 3 goals. Are intriguingly playing 13th today
  • 5 0-0's at halftime at home
  • 2 0-0's at home
  • no opponent has led at halftime at Lazio
Atalanta
  • no win in 9 away matches saw 7 defeats
  • only 4 wins in 14 matches have all come at home
  • only 5 clean sheets all season so an inference that they will concede more than keep a clean sheet
  • only 1 away win came v 17th
  • have lost away to 3rd, 4th, 6th, 7th 9th and 10th
  • 5 0-0's at halftime away
  • no 0-0 this season
  • have conceded 14 goals in the last 1/2 hour of away matches
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • this should not end 0-0.
  • Potential for action last 1/2 hour if it's a tight match
  • Advantage Lazio based on consistent wins and 2/3 goals v 14th and below ( but atalanta are 13th in the league
  • I favour Lazio here so that's how I'll base my decisions in-play
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2pm - Hull v Sunderland - 2.24 home

  • another *cough* glamourous Premiership tie

2pm - Inter v Torino - 1.53 home
Standout stats

  • 3 score draws and an Inter away win in the last 4 head to heads. Interestingly Torino led in each of those drawn head to heads
  • this is 5th v 9th. Only 5 points separate these 2.
Inter Milan
  • have lost only 5 matches this season and their 11 draws are the reason they are not title-bound.
  • they have drawn their last 2 matches
  • Recent home form exemplifies this draw-itis  - DDWDDWDD where D=Draw and W=Win. The wins were 1-0's, one v AC Milan and the other v Sassuolo
  • failed to score in only 5 matches this season
  • only 1 defeat at home came v 2nd
  • 6 0-0's at halftime at home so don't be surprised with a 0-0
  • scored first in only 7 of 13 homes and note they only lost one, ergo Inter Milan are reliable when conceding first as far as us DRT'ers are concerned
Torino
  • only 1 win in 5 matches and 3 defeats in 4 matches
  • failed to score in last 2 matches
  • have lost away to 1st, 3rd and 6th
  • only 2 0-0's at halftime away
  • no away 0-0
  • Immobile the key goalscorer away for Torino. If he does not play then favour Inter Milan even more
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • Inter Milan are reliable DRT'ers so say the stats. If they concede first , have faith they will recover
  • Don't be surprised if this is 0-0 at halftime
  • Torino have not had a 0-0 away
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

230pm - Freiburg v Borussia Dortmund  -1.33 away
Standout stats

  • 100% wins for Dortmund in head to heads and they have scored 5 goals in the last 2 matches.
  • there should be no Champions League distractions as Dortmund's next match there is on the 19th March
  • this is 17th v 2nd , or 2nd bottom v 2nd top
Freiburg
  • no win in 5 matches
  • have scored and conceded in 5 of their last 6 matches
  • only 4 clean sheets all season
  • have drawn at home to 1st and beat 3rd 3-2. Interesting!
  • have scored and conceded in 9 of 11 home matches
  • have conceded in 11 home matches
  • no home 0-0
  • 3 0-0's at halftime at home
Dortmund
  • only 1 defeat in 6 matches was a 3-0 v Hamburg which happened before a champions league match
  • 2-2-5-4-0-3 scored in their last 6 matches
  • Dortmund have failed to score in only 4 matches all season
  • 2 clean sheets in their last 3.
  • 13 over 2.5 goals matches in their last 14
  • have scored and conceded in 8 of 11 aways
  • Dortmund have conceded in their last 10 away matches
  • 82% over 2.5 goals matches away
  • 2 0-0's away at halftime
  • No 0-0's this season
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • no champions league distractions today could see Dortmund retain their strong goalscoring record of late.
  • Freiburg have eyecatching unbeaten form v 1st and 3rd so do take note
  • Both teams could score today and Dortmund have such a good attacking unit that I can rely upon them to equalise should they concede first ( lay Freiburg therefore)
  • Dortmund are clearly favoured in head to heads.5 goals in their last 2 head to heads. What chance a replication today?
  • as both teams are likely to score, perhaps we can expect a goal before halftime
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

330pm - Rangers v Albion - 1.1 home
Standout stats

  • This is a scottish cup match
  • League one Rangers ( only in name, they are not a League one team if you know what I mean) play League 2 Albion. The way Rangers have been tearing teams a new one in League one suggests they warrant these odds and will score the 3/4 we expect of such a quote
Rangers
  • 7 clean sheets in wins in the Scottish cup since 2012
  • 4 consecutive home wins scoring 7-3-3-4 and again not conceding
Albion
  • 4 consecutive wins to nil in the Scottish Cup
  • 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 2-0. Beat Motherwell 1-0 which is eyecatching

Profitable in-play opportunities

  • always tough to gauge lower league teams' achievements. Quite clearly Rangers are the better teams and in devastating form in league one. yes they have been faltering ( great news for DRT) recently, which is to be expected as complacency sets in. Expect no mistakes, and if there are mistakes such as an Albion score first, then perhaps consider backing 0-1 insurance given the 3 1-0 wins for Albion but do expect rangers to win
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

330pm - Ajax V Cambuur - 1.2 home
Standout stats

  • only 1 recent head to head of relevance sees a 1-2 Ajax win - the winner came in the 90th minute
  • this is 1st v 11th
Ajax
  • 12 wins and 2 1-1 draws in the last 14 matches
  • 6 consecutive home wins conceding only 1 match
  • have failed to score in only 3 matches
  • only 1 loss at home was v Vitesse
  • failed to score in only 2 home matches
  • 77% over 2.5 goals at home 3 in every 4 matches
  • 5 0-0's at halftime at home
  • have scored 21 of their 32 home goals in the 2nd half
  • have conceded only 4 home goals
  • no opponent has led at halftime at home
Cambuur
  • have scored and conceded in 4 of their last 5 away matches
  • have scored in their last 8 matches
  • have only kept 2 clean sheets in 19 matches
  • no away wins
  • have lost 3-0 and 3-1 to 2nd and 3rd
  • have only scored more than 2 goals in 1 away match
  • have conceded in their last 9 away matches
  • 5 0-0's at halftime away
  • no away 0-0's
  • have conceded 20 away goals from 30th minute onwards
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • Ajax have a decent gap at the top but it only takes a couple of slip ups for Vitesse to close the gap.
  • expectation for 3 goals for Ajax if they are at their best.
  • both sides have had 5 0-0's at halftime away so if this is a concerted 0-0 then lay the 0-0 halftime score late and low ( expectation of 3 goals for Ajax and surely 1 before halftime is not illogical)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

405pm - Manchester City v Wigan - 1.14 home
Standout stats

  • a recent 5-0 win for City in the league cup and that 1-0 loss to Wigan in the FA Cup are the last 2 head to heads 1.14 odds of course suggests the former scoreline
Manchester City
  • no competitive fixture in 10 days will have City straining at the leash
  • Aguero might make a return too so God Bless You Wigan!!
  • Recent City defeats have come at the hands of Chelsea and barcelona
  • these 2 defeats are the only defeats in 16 matches at home
  • 12 wins and 2 losses in their last 14 FA Cup matches - losses v Wigan in the Final and Manchester United
Wigan
  • 5 consecutive wins for Wigan saw them beat Cardiff 1-2 in the Cup
  • 4 consecutive away wins in all competitions
  • 7 wins and an extra time win in their last 8 FA Cup matches ( under Martinez for most of those)

Profitable in-play opportunities

  • new managers for both sides and clearly City favoured .
  • we may see the curse of the Champions League ( struck 3 times yesterday) as City play Barcelona on the 12th March . Surely they have enough strength in depth to rest the best and still put out a superb team?
  • Manchester City favoured here. If true to the odds, you'd expect a goal before halftime. Delay though
