- my original research is lost but the gist of it is as follows
- Laos have been dominant in head to heads winning 2-1 with regularity. Both teams score when they meet
- In the AFC Challenge Cup ( today's tournament) Laos have had 3 consecutive 1-1 draws
- Philippines are far more solid with a number of good wins. Most recently though a 0-0 v Afghanistan
- I concluded by pointing to head to heads favouring Laos and recent SFC Challenge Cup form seeming to justify the Philippines odds.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- this is the next match I researched and was short and sweet. 5-0 win for Granitas earlier in 2014 is recent enough to be a good guide for today.
- This is the Lithuanian top flight. I would look for a replication of this scoreline and look for a concerted period of 0-0, whereupon I would back over 4.5 goals at hopefully higher odds.
- Do note that the market is likely to be terrible at www.betfair.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- This is a Toulon Tournament and Brazil have a solid 2013 unbeaten record. Note 2 of the scorelines were 1-0 and they have not scored more than 2 goals in this Tournament.
- South Korea tend to win 1-0 when they do win, but note losses v the likes of Italy and Spain saw them concede 3 goals.
- The hope here would be that South Korea turn up in defensive mode. If so, then backing 0-0 pre-match and hoping for a frustrating early period for Brazil, might pay off, given the Brazilians at this level don't tend to score bucket loads.

6pm - Mjallby v Malmo FF - 1.59 away
Standout stats
- Malmo are unbeaten in head to heads, drawing 3 and winning the last 2.
- this is 15th v 1st after 9 matches so there will be limited stats to go on as I said in yesterday's bulletin
Mjallby
- only 2 wins so far this season . Mjallby did win their last home match.
- only 1 clean sheet all season came in their last match.
- have lost to all current top 10 home and away
- have scored in defeats to 2nd, 3rd and 5th
- no 0-0 this season
Malmo
- 7 wins, a draw and a loss this season.
- have won all 4 away matches.
- only 2 away goals conceded came in the last 1/4 hour
Profitable in-play opportunities
- limited stats means limited conclusions, but both teams could score today, and Mjallby score in defeat. We might see a 1-3 perhaps if Malmo are on their game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- this is Oberliga v Bundesliga 2
- Koln are unbeaten in friendlies in 2013 onwards with 5 wins and 3 score draws so this kind of form could continue today against weaker opposition.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standout stats
- this is the Toulon Tournament
- no head to heads yet
#England Youth
- 6 consecutive wins in all competitions is part of a run of 7 win and a draw in 8 matches
- 6 clean sheets in those 8 amtches
- no form as yet in the Toulon tournament
Qatar youth
- with the ill-judged World Cup looming , The Qataris turn up in France
- no recent form , last form was 1992. It seems to be their debut in this Toulon Tournament.
Profitable in-play opportunities
- complacency might be England's undoing in an eminently winnable match. The slight concern is that Qatar are an unknown quantity , having no form to consider . They may be ultra defensive, we simply don't know.
- England have been very adept at clean sheets which opens things up for a correct score to nil, possible 2-0, 3-0 starting point?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standout stats
- this is a danish 2nd division match.
- 5-0 to Skive in October 2013 was their away scoreline.
- a simple glimpse at the last 5 matches tells a story here. Skive have won 4 of their last 5 matches , keeping 3 clean sheets.
- Djursland have lost their last 5 matches, but 3 1-0 losses in those 5 might suggest stubbornness.
Profitable in-play opportunities
- limited stats for the Danish 2nd division and this is one of those matches where you simply have to trust the odds as being accurate ( 3/4 goals for the home side and a possible win to nil)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Standout stats
- no head to heads
Ukraine
- only 1 loss in their last 14 matches in all competitions was against France
- 9 clean sheets in their last 10 matches
- 6 consecutive clean sheets in friendlies suggests a strong emphasis on defence in time for the World Cup.
- 5 consecutive clean sheets at home in friendlies includes 2 consecutive 2-0 wins
Niger
- a series of defeats ended with 3 consecutive score draws against Congo, Libya and Mauritania.
- only 1 friendly win recently was against Liberia.
- 2 consecutive 1--1's in friendlies.
profitable in-play opportunities
- friendlies should come with a wealth warning. All in all, though, Ukraine should be up for this with the World Cup so close. They tend to emphasise clean sheets and that should be where value seekers might care to look today.
- We should see total dominance from the home side if a) they play their first team and b) don't treat this as an experimental match , given the World Cup is a Tournament, Ukraine may look to show peripheral players off.

8pm - Club Atletico Antoniano v Betis - 1.12 away
- another friendly and another currently illiquid betting market.
- 1-4 for Betis in a recent friendly offers hope that they'll take this one seriously.
- Antoniano? I haven't got a scooby doo about the level of this side. We have to, I'm afraid, have faith in the odds and in the obviously stronger away side's abilities.
- What I tend to do here is look for 0-0's for a while, in order to back over 3.5/4.5 goals at higher odds.
