drt bulletin 16th may 2014

Welcome to the poor leagues! In every sense. Koge lose to Marienlyst and admittedly 2 teams I'd never heard of before.
HJK Helsinki were clinical , albeit offering no real DRT opportunities with a 4-0 win.
Nice research for the Tromso match where they scored 2+ at home for the first time, winning 5-2 .
A nice DRT match, as I said in the research, for Viking v Sandnes as Sandnes too a 0-2 lead only for Viking to record a 3rd score draw with a 2-2 and a nice profit.
I'm glad I went with over 2.5 goals in the Rosenborg match as it ended 1-3 to the away side. Staebeck scored first and Rosenborg next for a trade, the Staeback scored 2 70th + minute winners.

I lost interest in the St pat's game with them scoring first. Little did I know UCD would equalise!

Today

Profitable in-play opportunities

3pm - Dundee United v St Johnstone  -2.2 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

3pm - Real Madrid v Espanyol - 1.39 home
Standout stats
  • quite simply Real Madrid have thrown in the towel as far as the league is concerned and from my perspective it was a stupid move given Atl Madrid and barca's failings last time out and the fact the 2 of them play today. If Real Madrid had bothered in their last match, they'd have been on 87 points and bang in with a shout at the title. Ancelloti made a big booboo.
  • I will not research this match given the circumstances and Real Madrid's upcoming Champions league fixture, suffice to say this is their last home league match of the season so they may be up for it.
  • Expect the big boys to be rested - Ronaldo, Benzema, Di Maria, Modric, Bale , Ramos et al.
  • It still remains that real Madrid have only lost at home to the top 2.
  • Espanyol only lost 1-0 away to the top 2 so this will be an interesting match to approach via the inplay stats from www.squawka.com
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3pm - Sirius v Jonkopings Sodra - 1.57 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Arsenal v Hull - 1.5 home
Standout stats
  • the FA Cup is as unreadable as they come. Remember the "Wigan" factor.
  • Hull in the FA Cup have been full of goals but the highest ranked premiership side they faced was Sunderland!
  • Arsenal have beaten Liverpool, Everton and Spurs on the road to the Final
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Barcelona v Atl Madrid - 1.89 home
Standout stats

  • this is a match of circumstance rather than stats so here are the key elements to this final match of the season.
  • If Barcelona win, they win the title on goal difference.
  • Atl Madrid win the title with a draw
  • Atl Madrid are unbeaten in the last 5 head to heads
  • the Champions League final is on the 24th May 2014 and will play on the minds of Atl Madrid players. How will the manager deal with 2 key matches a week apart? Play the strongest side today and allow 7 days rest?
  • It's going to be a chess match. I would suggest Barcelona will boss possession, huff and puff and take an age to score if they are going to score.
  • This is another match to decide entry in -play ( and remember that just because these matches are high profile, it does not mean we need to get involved).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Besiktas v Genclerbirligi - 1.3 home
Standout stats
  • this is the last match of the season and a must win for besiktas to heap the pressure on Galatasary in 2nd
  • the away side are 8th and this is a dead rubber
  • Draw, Bes win, Gencl win in the last 3 head to heads
Besiktas
  • only 1 defeat in 6 matches. Have won their last 2 matches
  • Win, Win, Win, Draw, Win , Win, Win, Draw, Win so far in recent home matches
  • only 1 defeat at home this season
  • clean sheets v 7th, 9th and 10th at home and are playing 8th today
  • 13 at home without defeat
Genclerbirligi
  • only 1 away draw
  • have lost away to 1st , 2nd, 4th and 5th conceding 2-3-2-3
  • 9 away without a draw
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • stats and motivation seem to be on Besiktas's side. Can we trust Genc's away form v top 5, conceding 2/3 as a cue to the likely result today?
  • Besiktas at home are on a really solid unbeaten run of 13 and must be favoured for any DRT purposes.
  • No halftime stats in turkey
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5pm - Galatasaray v Kayseri Erciyesspor - 1.23 home
Standout stats

  • with Besiktas only a point behind in 3rd, Galatasary must win this match to retain 2nd place
  • Erciyesspor I think are safe. 14th with 37 points and -15 goal difference. If Elazigspor win  - they are 16th with 34 points, they will have to win by at least 8/9 clear goals to leapfrog Erciyesspor!
  • only 1 recent relevant head to head sees a 1-3 away win for Galatasary
Galatasary
  • 3 consecutive wins now , scoring 3 and 4 in their last 2 matches.
  • only 2 home defeats v 6th and 18th. Have beaten 15th and 16th at home and are playing 14th today
  • 13 at home without a draw
Erciyesspor ( Erci)
  • only 1 loss in 6 matches
  • 3 clean sheets in their last 3 away matches, and 2 1-0's and a 1-1 in their last 3 matches overall
  • 4 clean sheets in their last 6 matches
  • have lost away to 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, conceding 2-3-2-3-3
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • Must wins, do win  - right? Must win for the home side. 7 scored in their last 3 sees galatasary in good form for a last hurrah infront of home support.
  • 13 at home without a draw - can we avoid the draw today?
  • Erci tend to concede 2/3 in defeat away to top 6 sides, but most recently have kept 4 clean sheets in 6 matches. Will they be hard to break down? If you think so., then back 0-0 pre-match and hope this ultra defensive Erci outfit turn up.

515pm - Mallorca v Real Jaen - 1.91 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

6pm - Zadar v Istra - 1.53 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

630pm - PAOK v Panathinaikos - 1.73 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7pm - Dortmund v B Munich - 2.1 away
Standout stats
  • the DFB Pokal
  • Bayern, Dortmund, Bayern Dortmund in head to heads
  • 4-3-3 has been scored by the winner in the last 3 matches
Dortmund
  • unbeaten in 8 matches in all competitions
  • only 1 draw in 10 cup matches
  • 5 clean sheets in their last 5 matches
Bayern Munich
  • their recent form needs to be put into context. They won the league weeks ago
  • they have won 11 consecutive matches
  • Dortmund were the last team to beat Bayern in the cup
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • this is a one-off match and as such is tough to predict, particularly using stats. It seems that goals are assured when these 2 meet.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

7pm - Shamrock Rovers v Athlone - 1.18 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

7pm - Zaragoza v Sabadell - 1.94 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

730pm - Longford v Cobh Ramblers - 1.23 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

730pm - Netherlands v Ecuador - 1.5 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

745pm - Sligo Rovers v Bray - 1.29 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

745pm - Udinese v Sampdoria - 1.81 home
Standout stats

Profitable in-play opportunities

8pm - Lorient v Lille - 1.73 away
Standout stats
  • 8th v 3rd. 3rd place is in jepoardy for Lille if they don't win today. St Etienne have an eminently winnable game v bottom at home today and are only 1 point behind Lille
  • 2 consecutive wins for Lille in head to heads occured at home
Lorient
  • unbeaten in 7 matches
  • only 1 defeat in 6 at home came v PSG
  • 2 draws and a 1-0 win v Ajaccio in last 3 home head to heads
  • Loss, Draw, Win at home v top 4 so not sure which Lorient turns up today
  • only 3 home defeats
  • only 3 0-0's at halftime at home
Lille
  • must win really
  • only 1 defeat in 14 matches came against PSG in their last match.
  • 4 draws and 2 wins in their last 6 away matches
  • 4 away defeats  - 3 were to nil.
  • have not beaten top 10 away this season, 5 draws and 3 defeats
  • only 28% over 2.5 goals away from home
  • 6 0-0's at halftime away from home is 33% of matches
  • have scored 8 goals away just before halftime

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • a worrying match for Lille. They have not beaten top 10 away so will have to break theat to ensure 3rd place today.
  • Lorient have been good at home. Recent 1-1 and 4-4 home score draws suggests they may concede then score again.
  • Mixed bag for Lorient at home v top 4 so tough to gauge which Lorient will turn up.
  • Angle in? Must wins, win right? But will Lille really get their first away win v top 10

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Marseille v Guingamp - 1.52 home
Standout stats
  • I suppose 5th place is still up for grabs for Marseille. Guincamp are on 42 points and have the 2nd  best goal difference of those on 42 points so a draw will see them safe.
  • 4 wins and a draw in Marseille's favour might suggest Guincamp invest in a prayer mat to ensure their safety today
Marseille
  • are unbeaten in 7 matches with 3 draws in their last 4
  • 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 homes includes 3 and 4 goals and a 0-0.
  • only 1 clean sheet in 11 matches
  • against 14th and below at home, they have reasonable form with 5 wins and a 0-1 loss to local derby rivals Nice
  • have scored 10 and conceded only 2 in the first 1/2 hour at home this season. quick starters?
Guincamp
  • 2 wins and a draw in their last 3 matches - at least they're trying
  • 3 losses and a draw in their last 4 away, includes 2 1-0 defeats and a 1-1 v Monaco
  • have not won away to top 12 this season
  • 1-0 losses away to 3rd and 4th suggests they could put up a fight today
  • 9 0-0's at halftime away is 50% of matches
  • have conceded 11 goals in the first half hour away so poor starters

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • if looking at the stats, we might see a goal before halftime as quick starters with 10 in the first half hour play poor starters with 11 conceded in the first half hour away. this is despite acknowledging the 50% of Guincamp away matches ending 0-0 at halftime
  • A draw sees Guincamp safe, but Marseille's recent 3 and 4 goal hauls at home and head to head record suggests Guincamp will need to keep it as tight as they have in recent away matches to get anything.
  • A loss means a hope results fall their way to ensure safety
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Monaco v Bordeaux - 1.88 home
Standout stats
  • another dead rubber here so no research necessary
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Nice v Lyon - 1.82 away
Standout stats
  • Nice are on 42 points so a draw will see them safe , regardless of whether Sochaux win or not ( goal difference should suffice for Nice). Nice have the worst goal difference record of those on 42 points , so a loss today may see them relegated  ( based on other results)
  • Lyon are 5th and gain little today
  • Lyon win emphatically at home but at Nice in the last head to head it was 1-1. They'd take that today!!
Nice
  • only 3 wins in 14 matches. 4 defeats in their last 5 matches, the last 3 without scoring
  • 2 wins and 2 defeats in their last 4 homes includes a 0-1 loss to PSG
  • no home draw v top 10 this season. Losses to 1st, 2nd and 4th and a win v 3rd and 6th were both 1-0
Lyon
  • a season over
  • lost their last 2 matches
  • 3 away wins and an away draw prior to the loss in their last away match
  • no away draw v 12th and lower
  • scored and conceded away v bottom 4 ( playing 5th bottom today)

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • there is hope for Nice, a 1-1 last time and 1-0 home wins v 3rd and 6th . They only need a draw.
  • Both sides tend to avoid draws. Is that an angle in today?  Will Lyon score and concede against 5th bottom away, having done so against the bottom 4?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Paris St-G v Montpellier - 1.31 home
Standout stats
  • a dead rubber for Champions PSG but for Montpellier, they are 2 points from relegation with one match to play. They have the worst goal difference record of the 3 teams on 42 points. They need Sochaux to draw or lose today and Montpellier are safe.
  • 1-1, 1-0 PSG, 1-1 in the last 3 head to heads. I wonder if any PSG stars will be rested with the World Cup looming?
PSG
  • I'm not going to research as it is a dead rubber for them, so team news, mentality cannot really be measured in stats
Montpellier
  • head to heads are encouraging that they can get something from this match
  • PSG lost their last home match. 2 consecutive defeats to be tolerated? Hmm
  • only 2 wins in 11
  • 2 consecutive 2-0 defeats
  • Win, Draw, Loss in the last 3 aways
  • a really poor record v top 7 away, 5 defeats and a 0-0 draw. They failed to score in 5 of those 6 matches
  • have conceded in their last 5 away

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • motivation for PSG ? Last match at home, and the avoidance of 2 consecutive defeats at home
  • motivation for Montpellier - win and they stay up. Lose or draw, and they need Sochaux to lose. Head to heads offer encouragement but I am wary that in a meaningless match for PSG, they are wary of the loss last time out.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Sochaux v Evian TG - 1.95 home
Standout stats
  • simple really. Sochaux win, they have an excellent chance of staying up.Evian Win, they stay up
  • both sides have scored in the last 6 head to heads.
  • Draw, Draw, 2-1 win in the last 3 head to heads at Sochaux
  • this is 18th v 17th. This is Le Relegation six pointer ( said in a french accent)
Sochaux
  • unbeaten in 7 and only 2 defeats in 13, they are really trying their best here.
  • 4 wins in 5 matches and a 1-1 draw with PSG. 3 clean sheets in those 4 wins
  • Sochaux have scored in their last 13 matches
  • 6 wins and 2 draws in their last 8 home matches
  • have beaten 15th, 16th and 19th at home without conceding a goal.
  • 17% over 2.5 goals at home is thanks to those wins to nil
Evian TG
  • 3 losses in 4 for Evian in a nervy end to the season. Sole win in 4 came in their last match.Draw, Draw, Loss ( 1-0) Loss ( 1-0) away from home
  • Evian have only scored more than 1 goal away v bottom side. They have failed to score in 9 away matches
  • They have beaten 2nd bottom and bottom away from home
  • 7 0-0's at halftime away is 40% of away matches
  • have scored first in only 6 of 18 away matches

Profitable in-play opportunities
  • what a tussle! Survival on the line. Sochaux come into this match in the best recent form, by  a mile. Unbeaten in 8 and 6 wins and 2 draws in their last 8 home matches.
  • Evian must be worried with 3 losses in 4. But they have beaten the bottom 2 away but only scored more than 1 goal away in a single match. They failed to score in 8 away. If they win, you suspect it will be a 0-1. Their 2 recent away defeats were 1-0 which suggests both teams favour a defensive outlook. Unders here? 0-0 back to lay trade in this relegation 6 pointer ? Or will we see caution thrown to the wind in search of the goals to save a season?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - St Etienne v Ajaccio - 1.21 home
Standout stats
  • another match with sufficient motivation to warrant research
  • after 2 draws, St Etienne won the last 2 head to heads, latterly 0-1
  • this is 4th v 20th. A win gives St Etienne a chance of 3rd if Lille draw or lose ( if Lille draw, St Etienne will, with a win, get 3rd on goal difference)
St Etienne
  • unbeaten in 8 and only 2 defeats in 13 matches
  • 3 consecutive wins augurs well for today
  • unbeaten in 11 at home - with 8 wins
  • have failed to score in only 7 all season
  • only 2 defeats at home and against bottom 3 at home, we see  3-0 and 3-1 wins
  • 9 0-0's at halftime at home is 50% of matches
  • have only conceded 1 first half goal.
  • have scored 23 of their 33 home goals in the 2nd half
Ajaccio
  • they won their last match at home. One last hurrah today for the relegated bottom side?
  • 3 consecutive away defeats
  • have lost 5 of their last 7 matches
  • only 1 away win was v 2nd bottom. drew away with PSG and only beaten 1-0 away v Monaco. Did lose 3-0, 3-1, 3-1 v 3rd, 5th and 6th
  • have conceded in their last 16 away matches and last 33 overall
  • have conceded 25 of their 36 away goals in the 2nd half
Profitable in-play opportunities
  • those away results v 1st and 2nd might be a worry for St Etienne, but with St Etienne scoring 3 v bottom 3 and Ajaccio losing by 3 v 3rd, 5th and 6th, I think 3 might be attainable for the home team who need a win.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

8pm - Toulouse v Valenciennes - 1.69 home
Standout stats
  • this is a dead rubber v 11th and 2nd bottom ( who are down) so does not warrant research
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
